I have a double arm articulating mount on my 62" and it's strong. I saw the link earlier and those are one arm; I wouldn't trust it. That's based on my completely non scientific observation.

That stuff was delicious.

And yes, I have put on my big boy pants and will be picking up the 65 when it pops up for a deal.

Are there any good "Price Notification" plug ins from Chrome or an App or anything?

The irony is I've been debating picking up a "smaller" TV or monitor specifically for gaming. I do love my big ole 60 or 65 or whatever it is tho

camelcamelcamel.com for Amazon. Not sure otherwise.

I just google the model number every few days and see what the results give me. I haven't found anything that consistently works across multiple sites.

Did I miss the post where we decided LG is better than Samsung? Just curious, I'm still hung up on the Vizio cause I'm cheaper and it gets good CNET reviews. And it supports both HDR formats

OLED > *

Pretty much every review you read will say that.

Definitely not too big to go 65, Pam approves.[Image: b5015606dbabfbf6dc1c443a0a9a357d.jpg]

The lines are not off, the TV is tilted down.

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 06-16-2017

That still looks tiny. You might need an 80 for that wall.

I just bought an Alexa. Am still learning what to do with it. So far I believe the neighbors think I'm angry at some woman that wandered into my house. That is all.

I like mine, idk if it would be worth the full price, but otherwise it's neat. I order my shit on Amazon through it (re-ordering dog treats, food, other consumable stuff,) get weather updates in the morning, set timers as i'm cooking, and since I switched to Amazon music, use it for that too. Have also used it for calling an Uber and some of the other "skills."

The usual retort is that, your phone can do all that. Obviously true. However, there is just something stupid simple to just saying "Alexa" and getting a nice clear reply rather than having to find your phone, unlock it and ask those some questions. Again, is that worth the full price? Probably not, but mine was a gift and i'd say it's worth it for the refurb price or a sale that Amazon occasionally runs.

I still have my tin foil hat on with that kind of stuff. Something doesn't sit right for me having an active listening device inside my home, connected to the web.

Yes, I tape my cameras also.

You're not alone Dave. Thought about getting one but haven't for the same reason. The wife works for a huge name network security company and they hand out these little Webcam sliding covers like candy. Got them on both our laptops.

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 06-18-2017

How long till they start accessing the front facing camera on your phone. No one covers those lol.

But to what Jake said, yes if neighbors were close enough to hear, they'd probably call the cops for a domestic violence with the names the fiancé shout when the Google home has the music turned up.

Basically it's good for music, kinda. I still start my playlists from the phone to have better control unless it's just one song I want to hear but she's good for like next or pause or louder. The most useful I found it was one day when we were painting, we moved her upstairs (in kitchen otherwise) and while she was out of her normal spot, I brought her in the bathroom for music in the shower and that worked well to change songs but probably not worth it for the 7 minutes I'm in the bathroom. I still pull my phone out for when I need to search something because most of the time she pulls up a useless article to read from that's either wrong or not the info I need.

I don't think I'd use Alexa (if I had her) for ordering even reordering because prices and sellers change on Amazon so frequently, I wouldn't want to pay $5 more on dog treats because I didn't check to see if there was another seller or miss prime shipping cause it didn't use Amazon fulfillment.

My Google home was a gift also and not sure I'd buy one myself but now I kinda want one upstairs and in the garage too mainly for music stuff. Especially because I'm trying to adopt the Google ecosystem and have all my stuff eventually be smart mainly for media purposes and maybe eventually lights and stuff when we buy a place. I'll probably wait until they launch the v.2 with the built in wifi/WiFi booster (if you already have a good dedicated router).

But Google home is on sale for Stone $100 now depending on where you buy. Sam's club is $100. Target might be $110.

We basically use ours to set timers while we cook, play pandora, and ask random questions to. You can also play Jeopardy, 20 questions and other games with Alexa.

It won't let you re-order or order unless it's fulfilled by Amazon (they want their money) and it will tell you how much it is with shipping and taxes before confirming. So, yeah I'm not memorizing all the prices I've paid, but I'm fully aware of about how much it is. Again, this is purely just so I don't forget, because I will, and is just easy.

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 06-19-2017

Well in that case, then Yea i'd probably use it for the couple things I repeat order on Amazon. I was thinking it was like one click where you say order it and it says ok it's on the way or something.

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Apoc - 06-26-2017

Someone catch me up on chromebooks. My tablet is slower than my phone, so I only ever use it on planes. I'm also not a fan of using my phone for a week at a time - my alienware laptop never leaves the house. I'd like something highly portable and quick for the day to day stuff.

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - .RJ - 06-26-2017

12" macbook.

Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Apoc - 06-26-2017

Also, under $500.

I spent two grand on my alienware and have a 13" MacBook pro from work. This needs to be small and have no lag for web surfing and very light photo editing.
