Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - Apoc - 10-17-2016 I don't remember because that was almost 15 years ago. :| Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - JPolen01 - 10-17-2016 Yes it's ridiculously cheap to insure 2 cars and a house now. Odd, mine didn't drop at all and I cross shopped; but Jess and I didn't have priors by the time we got married. Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - ViPER1313 - 01-03-2017 So I got my renewal and my rate jumped 20% due to the reckless ticket on my wife's driving record... that my wife never got... as in never got pulled over or got at ticket in the past 5 years. You would think insurance companies would realize occasionally the 3rd party reporting agencies mess up - you would be wrong. I now have the pleasure of fighting exploredata.com . F insurance companies. I now have the pleasure of fighting exploredata.com .Ugh man that sucks :x I've had to occasionally deal with a "driving on suspended license" charge my wife had that she was errantly cited for (some paperwork mishap at the WV DMV that never got sorted out, because West Virginia). It's been many, many years but for some reason some carriers still pick it up on her record and rate her extra for it. Our current carrier does not, but it seems to be a crapshoot when I shop around. Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - WRXtranceformed - 02-17-2017 So my State Farm bill randomly increased by $20/month and the billing has been all over the place as they have been struggling with some kind of billing issues. Guess I get to start the shopping process again! Also doesn't help that I have neighbors that were with State Farm who also moved from NC and their bills actually went DOWN. I get that individual rates are different for each person / family, but I see no reason why with a perfect current record and low vehicle usage that my bills should go up in SC while others go down Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - SlimKlim - 02-17-2017 State Farm Guy: "Fuck this customer in particular" Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - ViPER1313 - 02-17-2017 Back with GEICO after my wonderful experience with Progressive. One of the Progressive agents had the gall to tell me "maybe you should talk with your wife" while resolving the Motor Vehicle History error... my response was "maybe I should talk with your supervisor"... which I did.... at length. So now my insurance is $70 cheaper every 6 months... Now at $850 premium with 4 cars for 2 drivers, 250/500k limits, full coverage with $500 deductible on everything but the Talon. Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - Apoc - 02-17-2017 I just tried insuring the 911 with Haggerty again* and it's still not cheaper than Geico ($775 vs. $465). It looks like it all hinges on the fact the deductible options are in multiples of $1000, so you're forced into $0 unless you want to open yourself up to paying out for any minor incident. Lame. *last time they wouldn't because you have to own more cars than drivers Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - WRXtranceformed - 02-17-2017 Leaves Esurance, goes to State Farm, calls Esurance and their rates are magically lower again than State Farm. At least Esurance's rates stay consistent through the policy term, maybe I should just cancel every 6 months and sign up as a new customer? Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - Apoc - 02-17-2017 WRXtranceformed Wrote:Leaves Esurance, goes to State Farm, calls Esurance and their rates are magically lower again than State Farm. Everyone should be shopping around every 1-2 years to make sure they aren't getting hosed. Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - Jake - 04-13-2017 Anybody have experience with Erie? I've been with Geico since I started driving and figure I ought to start shopping around every 6-12 months. Jeff Hall (from NASA) is having someone reach out to me for a quote but I'd like to cross shop Erie with a few others. Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - flintster55 - 04-13-2017 I have Erie and have for a few years and love it so far. I came from Geico and actually found savings with Erie. My friend that works in a bodyshop says Erie is one of the best to deal with if/when you find yourself needing repairs when it comes to not trying to cut corners/aftermarket parts, etc. during the repair process. My agent is a JMU alum as well if you would like some contact info. Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - JPolen01 - 04-13-2017 We have Erie for home and auto. Great dealing with our local agent and pricing is really good. Haven't seen an increase in the 2 years we have been with them. Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - Jake - 04-13-2017 Glad to hear. They can save me nearly $500 a year between the two cars so this is encouraging. I'm working with one of Jeff's agents but thank you guys for the info! Re: Car insurance rates and metaphorical sodomy - Senor_Taylor - 04-13-2017 Isn't there something special about Erie that makes them harder to get with or something?
