Re: Private Exotics Collection - SlimKlim - 04-04-2014 It's 1% of 1% of NJ. Goodspeed Wrote:It's crazy how some of these guys keep things like this private and under wraps, must be a lot of work actually. When my shop changed ownership and brought in a Ferrari tech I was politely asked to no longer take photos of the shop and post them online. A couple of the cars are well into the seven figure range and they don't want people to figure out where they are. Re: Private Exotics Collection - Goodspeed - 04-06-2014 I wasn't quite done being amazed by this collection, and I just had to know how much dough we were looking at. So, the other night while watching some Futurama I decided to crunch the numbers. A few notes: - I assumed all cars were bought new (the owner doesn't strike me as a guy who has to troll used car lots). Still, if some were slightly used, they may have been cars that went up in price, not down (like the Ford GT, early Veyron craze, etc). - All prices are MSRP, found through Wikipedia and MSN Auto's surprising collection of original car prices/sales data. This is definitely a very conservative figure, as we all know about dealer markup and the fact that it costs $10k on an exotic to get your brake calipers red instead of black, $20k for CF armrests, etc. - The year of some cars were obvious, for others, I just picked a middle year of their model run. - None of the classics were included (who knows how much they went for at whichever auction) - For the Aston DBR9 Le Mans racer, I just plugged in what it cost for a privateer team to buy one as a rough estimate. - For the Ferrari F1 car, it appears to be Schumacher's '06 F248. I was able to find out what Massa's '06 F248 went for in a private sale, so I'm guessing Schumi's car went for something similar.

Re: Private Exotics Collection - Evan - 04-06-2014 Wasn't the 599 next to the fxx a 599xx? (At 1.5mil) Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk Re: Private Exotics Collection - Evan - 04-06-2014 I think there was also an Alfa 8c in there Sent from my LG-V500 using Tapatalk Re: Private Exotics Collection - Goodspeed - 04-06-2014 Evan Wrote:I think there was also an Alfa 8c in there 8C is in there (#16). The 599xx is pretty much like the FXX, stripped out full racecar. The GTO's are still street cars with full interiors and no vents on the front fenders, rear wing or exposed fuel filler, also the center stripes were only on the GTO's I think. 599xx ![]() vs. GTO
Re: Private Exotics Collection - premiershine9 - 04-06-2014 My buddy and I finally spotted his 8c up at Lime Rock this past fall- as we were driving through the thick Connecticut fog at 6 something a.m. headed up to the track I saw the tail lights ahead and we quickly caught up to him- after enticing him he took off and then we never saw him until we arrived at the track long after..... hands down the most beautiful car I've ever seen. Re: Private Exotics Collection - Goodspeed - 06-24-2014 So, this guys Enzo was just smashed up by two dealer employees in CT http://jalopnik.com/crashed-connecticut-enzo-was-being-driven-by-two-dealer-1595260516 When I read the "129 cars" part including "a FXX", I thought...had to be the same guy. Unless the northeast is just crawling with mega rich Enzo collectors. Sure enough, I found this video that shows him in his "garage" (-mansion), same one pictured here; http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000032867 Quote:Car Collector Extraordinaire Sad, but I guess he won't be hurting for another exotic to cruise around in any time soon. Re: Private Exotics Collection - JPolen01 - 06-24-2014 I thought the same thing. Thanks for confirming this Goodspeed.
