Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - SlimKlim - 09-11-2015 Since I'm just in a full smartwatch nerdout mode today, here's how to find custom faces for 'em. There are a bunch of apps that plug you into their "collections." You go to the app on the watch, and then select a face in the app on your phone. I've tried a bunch of them but the most robust ones seem to be Facer, Pujei Black, and WatchMaker. I think all three of them, or at least Pujie and WatchMaker allow you to do completely custom faces as well, if you feel like sitting there and fiddling with a thousand settings. The major drawback is the search tools within the apps kind of suck, so while they each claim to offer "thousands" of custom faces, they don't make it very easy to find them. But there are some sites that aggregate them: http://facerepo.com/ https://www.watchawear.com/watches/watch-faces.html There are also obviously some faces you can buy or download straight from the Play Store, the one in my photo above is "Skymaster" and has 4 customizable widget spaces. Mine shows Day/Date, Temp/Weather, and Watch/Phone battery levels, and the top space I have the wing logo and my initials. The same guy also has a similar one called "Ranger" which is very similar but also has a compass/steps widget which will be handy for someone like me, who has a sense of direction ever so slightly worse than James May. Both are well done and are <$2, so I'd recommend them. I'm currently poking around for maybe a nice moonphase style with a white or cream face to go with my new brown band, and I'd like to find one with a convincing skeleton watch effect, but I haven't seen one done well yet. EDIT: Holy shit, ask and ye shall receive: http://facerepo.com/app/search/results?sortOrder=relevance&query=crashpilot&page=1 Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - WRXtranceformed - 09-12-2015 Although very well done, a skeletonized face on a digital watch seems sacrilege to me :p Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - SlimKlim - 09-28-2015 Yeah I didn't keep any of them, they look gorgeous on the phone and would make a cool background widget, but the detail is too small for the watch and the "movement" is glitchy. I wish someone would do a more simplified version. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JustinG - 09-28-2015 So got my v2 Moto 360 on Friday, after a full weekend. I can say I am sold, glad I waited for second gen stuff to come out though and didnt hope on with any of the gen1 stuff. The Surge fit the bill, but then I got greedy, this does notifications, replies, and other updates, and looks 100x better. I am sold on wearables, I was speculative at first. Now that Casey has seen it, she wants an apple watch  Wireless charging cradle turns it on low light/bedside clock mode. Next to my other watches Current Face: Current Ambient Mode Face: Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - SlimKlim - 09-28-2015 Nice. Lauren wants one now too after seeing what mine can do. I was looking at the 360 "For Women" although it looks like the main difference is a slightly thinner band, its still the 42mm case size. That "Skymaster" face in the photo in one of my posts on the previous page has become my "daily driver." I really love having the weather/temp at at a glance. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - CaptainHenreh - 09-28-2015 I like it. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sijray21 - 09-28-2015 i may have to check these out. some of the newer wearables look pretty good. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - WRXtranceformed - 09-29-2015 Ho ho! All of a sudden watches start reading text messages and they are "cool" again! I will reiterate my position as not being a bandwagon fan :p Anyone see the TG episode where they dumped Hammond in the middle of the mountains and all he had was the Breitling that has a GPS distress locator? ![]() http://www.breitling.com/en/emergency/presentation/ I was talking to LEO buddy about this the other day, pretty cool technology Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JustinG - 09-29-2015 To be fair, I have worn a watch since I was like 10. Currently own 4, none of which are as snazy as yours, I do have a kid to pay for afterall. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Sully - 09-29-2015 I like the idea of the smart watch, I think, but I never wear a watch. I don't think I could tolerate it on my wrist. Oh well. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Apoc - 11-09-2015 Getting closer, but way too much for something that you'll want to replace in a few years. http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/9/96959 ... h-hands-on Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JustinG - 11-11-2015 It is a great looking watch, but I'll stick with my 360 v2 that looks very similar. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - WRXtranceformed - 11-11-2015 Very interesting and I have mixed feelings on that Tag just because of being more a traditionalist. But it would be really cool to be able to switch up the face based on what you are wearing (color) or if you get bored and want it to look different, or want it to have the Carrera look or Aquaracer look one day. I think it was only a matter of time before the major watch companies started a foray into the smartwatch world. I don't know how much the other more traditional luxury brands will do it because they don't really need to (Rolex, PP, etc.) Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JustinG - 11-11-2015 There are plenty of users make luxury watch faces, I rock a few Tag faces every now and then. Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Apoc - 11-11-2015 Looking and being aren't the same thing. The real ballerz will know you're faking! Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - Apoc - 11-11-2015 Do you really have the black thing at the bottom all the time? Seems like a deal breaker to me.
Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - JPolen01 - 11-11-2015 Who has a Harmony remote? Which one do you have? Does it work with all of your gadgets/boxes/tvs? Is this a deal? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BQ5RYI4/?ta ... 2741770316 Re: The official tablet (and other useless electronics) thre - SlimKlim - 11-11-2015 I have this one. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Harmony- ...
