Boss 302 with revving to 8500 - Senor_Taylor - 01-28-2014

Just saw this on Reddit. I'm curious to see how long this engine lasts. If it doesn't supernova after a while, I'll be impressed. Sounds pretty sick.

Edit: Not sure where that "with" in the title came from.

Why not? Stock with a warranty it goes to 7500, can't tell me in a race trim with the appropriate cams and valve springs that another 1000 isn't in there somewhere.

I think here we're talking stock. Anything is possible with the right amount of work. In this vid, all it is the rev limiter removed.

Azzactly.

Ford is known to be conservative with the tune that they program into the ECU's of their top-tier Mustang engines as well as overbuilding them (forged everything) for warranty purposes and the Coyote/Roadrunner V8's are no different. This practice really started back in the early 2000's with the development of the Terminators.

I don't have any technical information to add, but that car sounds fantastic and that is GT500 power territory. I am impressed.

Sounds like something exotic for sure.

You'd really be impressed then with a '13 GT500 that had a *slightly* smaller pulley swapped onto its blower and an ECU reflash.

When I am king I am going to put one of those in a GT40 kit car
