Private Exotics Collection - turboneticsSS - 04-03-2014

So it never occurred to me to share my photos from one of the best automotive experiences of my life, I was invited to see a private collection with my local cars and coffee, the collector prefers to not be named but here are the pictures, it was a few years ago so don't judge my picture taking skills. Here's a few to look at but the link to my photo bucket is there too

That guy's collection is amazing. Seen pictures a few times. Would love to see it in person.

Re: Private Exotics Collection - turboneticsSS - 04-03-2014

It was actually the first time I met rob and heather, and yea, and the owner even bought us all pizza, real nice guy and unbelievable collection, his one turbo s was a 918 edition, the car you needed to buy to be eligible to buy the 918

Re: Private Exotics Collection - Evan - 04-03-2014

..... Bill Gates? How in the....

Re: Private Exotics Collection - Goodspeed - 04-03-2014

Is this in VA? Probably one of the wildest collections I've never seen or heard of...millions and millions of dollars there. It's crazy how some of these guys keep things like this private and under wraps, must be a lot of work actually.

Two Ford GT's and a damn RAF WWI biplane. I like this guy.

Re: Private Exotics Collection - JPolen01 - 04-03-2014

I believe it's somewhere in Jersey.

Re: Private Exotics Collection - WRXtranceformed - 04-03-2014

Mmmm...Bill Gates ends hunger, poverty and tries to cure HIV with his money. This guy buys one of every exotic car in existence and multiple M classes in the same color. I bet you could make a pretty good side by side Russell Wilson / Kaepernick-like meme with him and Gates though!

(I'm kidding, I'm sure this guy also has a charitable foundation or ten)

Re: Private Exotics Collection - Senor_Taylor - 04-03-2014

Considering Scooter is from PA, I'd say PA.

Re: Private Exotics Collection - Kaan - 04-04-2014

real ballers would have bricked ALL of the driveway.

Re: Private Exotics Collection - Beej - 04-04-2014

Sweet jesus. The amount of money to 1) acquire, 2) store, 3) maintain, and 4) (maybe?) keep it up to date...I can't even fathom that kind of wealth.

I don't even think I'd be mentally capable of that. "Shit, did I change the oil on Red Gallardo #4? Which car did I leave my umbrella in?"

Re: Private Exotics Collection - JPolen01 - 04-04-2014

That's why you employ a mechanic or 3 to maintain them for you.

Re: Private Exotics Collection - SlimKlim - 04-04-2014

^ There's a guy that owns a warehouse behind OG Racing in Sterling that has a private collection of mostly classic british/european cars and a sprinkling of other stuff. He invited me in to check it out once and his personal full time mechanic was doing a clutch job and tune up on his latest purchase, I wondered the same thing, how do they even keep track of which car needs what. I'd love to manage the logistics of some unfathomably wealthy car dude's collection, where do I apply for that job?

Pfft, you don't have that many cars and only one umbrella.

Stop thinking like a peasant

interesting you'd say this... i read an article this week that broke down the 1%. it turns out it is really the 1% of the 1% that are "the problem." the other 99% of the 1% are in the same boat as the rest of us in terms of growth.
