Vote for the Lego Caterham - G.Irish - 02-12-2015

Lego has been doing more automotive sets lately, and it doesn't get much cooler than this. I think I might find a way to mount lego cars in my garage or something.

I don't get all of these "Lego" things that don't look anything like Legos. Where's the fun in that?

The Lego Creator series is the best, most have few if any custom peices, and include instructions for 3 models. So it's really re-usable but you still end up with neat stuff like this bad boy:

I would say "have kids". But it's a lot cheaper just to buy some legos. :dunno:

also the odds of you leaving them scattered across your bedroom floor to find with your bare feet in the middle of the night is much less than if you buy them for your kid.

I was so guilty of this as a kid I impaled my own feet with Legos many a time.

Re: Vote for the Lego Caterham - Steve85 - 02-13-2015

Lego has come a long way. My son uses a Mindstorms kit in a "robotics" class where they build one from scratch and program it to complete missions. There's a world wide competition using a standardized board of missions called FIRST Lego League - some pretty impressive stuff is built. I'm trying to get an old laptop working now (MS reallllly wants you to know they do not support XP anymore) to download the software so he can program his.

But I am an adult, so I have no interest in playing with this Lego set...none...at all.

Re: Vote for the Lego Caterham - Sully - 02-13-2015

I never left my Legos lying around. I either had certain vehicles that were built or being built (yea they were pretty much always vehicles lol) or I put the loose pieces in those under bed style storage bins which actually are still under my bed because I never needed the space and never moved them to the attic lol.

Re: Vote for the Lego Caterham - Goodspeed - 02-13-2015

I was walking through Target the other day and got mad when I saw the lego aisle....this is about the coolest thing I could build when I was a kid

Yeah man! Capsela was the dark horse of my toy closet. I used to love making creations that would float on the water and play around with them in the bathtub when I was a kid. Who knows how safe they actually were....plastic modular bubbles that piece together with live wires and batteries? What could go wrong

Saw the Mini kit back in August at a lego store up there. It was amazing. Even came with a picnic basket.
