They Call Me Mikes Customs #rx7 - dirtymikesfc - 03-22-2018
Hello all,
My name is Michael Mansour and I will be attending JMU this fall. I am a transfer student from NVCC and I love to hoon and make my car go faster. I drive an 88 Mazda RX-7 FC GTU. This was the lightweight RX-7 that came with no rear hatch wiper, roll up windows, and an overall lighter car coming in at a curb weight of 2650lbs. I bought the car 3 years ago completely stock. The car has the iconic 13B rotary engine.... which I blew after owning it for about 5k miles. I then swapped a jdm 13B turbo engine in and ran the car with turbo motor and trans with the stock ecu, diff, inj etc.. I then blew that motor leaning out while racing someone slower than me (of course). I then had my engine rebuilt by Angel Motorsports (who banged me). Through him I also got a set of 720cc Injector Dynamics Injectors as well as a standalone ECU (adaptronic) for my RX-7. The motor he built me blew after 6,000 miles, personally I believe the oil control rings failed but everyone has their own opinion
. I then picked up a running 13B Bridgeport motor down in North Carolina. I put that motor in the car in early 2017 and it has gotten me almost 10k miles 
!!! I then blew the diff launching the car down my driveway and swapped in a Turbo differential that is good for around 500 wtq. I have done all my work in my garage at home. I do my own ECU tuning , and I am still on the stock turbo, my estimate on power would be mid to high 200's. Im a technical guy and I love my RX-7 and am looking forward to a kick ass season at JMU! #ilovemywankel #rx7 #mazda #13b #fc #rotarylife

You know how it is, after the first swap you leave half the bolts out so the second time its in and out and nobody gets hurt.

Welcome! Glad to have another rotary nerd around. Hopefully we'll see you out for some autocross/HPDE/drag racing type of things, as MM doesn't hoon on the street but is generally pretty serious about the sanctioned fun

Man you've had some shit luck with motors, I wonder what the common denominator is ;P
Any experience with track/autocross in your car? I have a feeling you could be competitive if you can resist the urge for donuts around those cones

I have had next to no track time in the car, id be down to hit an autocross event and roast some brake pads. Ill need to bring a full rotary care package...premix, gas, and apex seals.
