Welcome to MM man, glad to have you!

- bassmangrammy - 09-08-2005

Josh, glad to have you.

- Sijray21 - 09-08-2005

welcome!

clean car too!

- JashGTP - 09-08-2005

lowering it this weekend to help out for possible auto x...but mostly im building the car for drag strip...my goal is to take it to low 12s by next summer....

any guesses what its running now?

- ScottyB - 09-08-2005

salutations Josh. i had a friend with a GTP, it was a fun sled to hurl around. also, it's a nice change to have another person here with straight-line interests, i'm sure with the 3.8 SC you'll be in the 12's soon.

and to answer your challenge, i bet right now you running what, mid 14's?

- Mike - 09-08-2005

i need 12s... and it's only a supercharger away Smile ON BOTH CARS!

edit: oh yeah, welcome... i've always had a weird fetish for that damn car.

- JashGTP - 09-08-2005

well it depends on the air but i should be down into the high 13s

i have go to the track 4 times and have been rained out each time

- lyltoy - 09-08-2005

welcome, my dad has a 2001 GTP daytona 500 edition...i really love that car, so much fun to mess with people in, i'll be sad when someone comes and buys it Cry

edit: i really wish i could afford to buy it from my dad, but with school its not plausible, oh well, i look forward to see what yours can do on the strip

- JashGTP - 09-08-2005

thanks

I drove a Monte Super SS once...is that the same engine? Anyways, welcome to the club bro

- CaptainHenreh - 09-08-2005

I doubt you'll find many people around here hating on a Supercharged 3.8 liter V6. I would love to have a GTP, except I'm poor, and there's no way i could afford one, and I can't stand an automatic.

but welcome to MM!

- WRXtranceformed - 09-08-2005

Sweet ride dude, and welcome =)

If it's indeed an automatic, that's going to hurt your strip times a little. A torque converter would help out a bunch if you haven't done that already.

With some sticky tires I don't see why you couldn't be in the high 13s right now.

- JashGTP - 09-08-2005

in regards to the monte question

the monte does have the same engines and the prixs. L36 (n/a) or l67 (supercharged)

however most monte ss are not supercharged usually it will have a ss supercharged decal.

But its simple to drop a l67 in them.

And to confuse you even more... the new l67 is called a l32 which come with improved internal and a much more effecient / larger supercharger.

97-03 = Gen III eaton m90

04-up = gen V eaton m90

to put a genV on a gen III you need a l36 lower intake mani....

haha sorry for the long one about engines that prob doesnt matter to anyone cause it seems im the only prix

- Feersty - 09-08-2005

Saw your name before on a forum list or what have you. I believe you are the first Pontiac, but its no problem. Variety is best. Welcome.

- Jeff - 09-08-2005

This Monte was a real supercharged beeeottch. It would flat roll. It only boosted like 3-5psi though Sad. I guess that is safe and normal for a big V6 with a super. I wanna put a M-90 from a T-bird on an 3.8L Dodge Caravan...that would surprise um...lol...

- Jeff - 09-08-2005

Lol...a M90 (formerly an m62) on a 3.0L V6....IN A NEON!!! As if the V6 neon wasn't neat enough.

- JashGTP - 09-08-2005

all i can say is wow....that is well i don tknow what that is

anyway i have my boost up to 10psi with the 3.4 pulley i put on...dropping down to a 3.0 when i add headers and a cam..should be around 13-14 then

- JashGTP - 09-08-2005

umm i think the monte should have been at least at 6-7 thats whats stock with these motors

- ScottyB - 09-08-2005

does anyone do aftercoolers for those SC's? i hear of alot of these supercharger pulley upgrades but not alot in terms of charge cooling
