What to do with Junk Cars? - Ginger - 01-10-2006

Okay, so I've got this car, an old busted Accord ('93) and I need to get rid of it. Nobody wants to buy it, particularly, and the charity rules have changed as far as tax write offs (I've heard).

Sooo... what do you guys do with cars you can't sell?

Do you junkyards buy them? Do they charge you to take them? I've never had to do this before so any help would be great.

part out what you can sell on forums, then have the junker take it away. If it costs something to tow it just take the plates off and park it somewhere where it'll get towed then problem's solved.

and extremely irresponsible to do to a working car. There are plenty of people and organizations who need but cannot afford a working vehicle. Those bash up fundraisers should only be done with junked non working cars

how about donate it to a local women's shelter, soup kitchen, etc. Make a press release to gain positive publicity with the community and university.
