FS: Inexpensive car ramps - PDenbigh - 03-14-2006 And not the kind of ramps one can use to jump their car Hazzard style. I got these hoping to make changing the oil in my vehicles easier. Well, the XR sits too low and the truck weighs too much (never tried, just read). So, they are in my small garage taking up valuable space, so I will sell them to an MM'er for $20. They are like this picture, only yellow and one piece in the back-top corner: ![]() $20, first come first serve, pickup only. I would like to have them out of my garage this week. For a FWD or AWD car they'd be awesome for oil changes or whatnot. My RWD's lower front bumper hits it and then just pushes them around. Hit me up with questions. Pete - Andy - 03-14-2006 Pete, I had the same problem but I bought some 5 dollars entry ramps from Advance and that solved the clearance problem. - PDenbigh - 03-14-2006 Good idea Andy. I'd still rather sell them though, so who wants em? - Mike - 03-14-2006 so basically you're saying fwd is superior? - HAULN-SS - 03-14-2006 I read it as rear wheel drive was too awesome for cheap car ramps. - JohnC - 03-14-2006 HAULN-SS Wrote:I read it as rear wheel drive was too awesome for cheap car ramps. Exactly. FWD basically just "surrenders" to the ramps, and is easily subdued, whereas RWD brutally imposes its will on the ramps, by pushing them around and making them feel ineffective. Of course, theres another possibility altogether here - Pete, were those ramps manufactured in France? - D_Eclipse9916 - 03-14-2006 JohnC Wrote:HAULN-SS Wrote:I read it as rear wheel drive was too awesome for cheap car ramps. Damn..... Youll find a lot of the cars in the club are too low or too heavy fot those ramps, mines just too low, hell when I went to get inspection, the front end was scraping all the way in the booth.... |
