Photoshop the van for me! - Jeff - 09-12-2006

So yeah, I think I want to paint the van as soon as I get the money for supplies. I want to do this one myself so with a little help from friends  it could be done in a weekend. I'm thinking on leaving it the original color from the beltline up and silver from the beltline down. Also, I am going to lower it about 2.5in and put some 16in PT wheels on it. That will all come later. If someone (Scott  ) could photoshop up the color and the wheels that would be super!

Might actually want to darken up the top a bit also, tint the windows too!

Thanks!

good lord man... finish the other TD and bring it out to the track. then worry about this one. however, if you do paint and have access to lots of paint supplies, i'd definitely like to try it out and practice on my hardtop if you also wanna practice on that

What, you mean our ghetto, half-drunk paint job on your hard top at teh MM partay wasn't good enough?? LOL!

- Maengelito - 09-12-2006

haha, actually that was starting to turn out well if i hadnt run out of paint. its when i was sober and finishing up the next week that it started to look like crap.

- Jeff - 09-12-2006

Lol, painting is almost an art even when you are doing a solid color. I have done 3 cars with basecoat clearcoat. Well, parts of cars. They always turned out super, but too shiny. I lay my clear on to think and it turns to candy.

Black is going to be a BITCH to paint right, AND getting that old rattle can paint off is also going to be a BITCH, good luck w/ that Wink.

Maeng,
If you want to bring your top down and paint it I can help you with that. As long as you buy the paint and clear we can get it done! We just painted our booth so the dust is at an all time low, would be a good time to do black.

Brian, if you are going to do this skip the Base+Clear and just do single stage Black. Base+Clear is a waste of time on a track car.

agreed. i have no desire for clearcoat. i was halfway contemplating getting a matching silver for the top and getting the blue diagonals like a can of redbull. i'm not sure i wanna go bling though.

jeff, i'm in no rush really, but i may take you up on this sometime this winter if thats cool

- ScottyB - 09-12-2006

i'll try my hand at this one Jeff but it might have to wait for tommorow

- Jeff - 09-12-2006

Sure Scotty. Thanks again! You do good work my friend. Brian, we could do it in a heavy single stage black also. Anytime man, just shoot me a PM or give me a call.

- Jeff - 09-12-2006

Oh, one more thing. The stock wheels shown on the van are 14in. I figure if you made the PT rims cover up the whitewall on the tire that outta be about 16in. Thanks Scott!

- ScottyB - 09-13-2006

it ain't something i'd hang on the wall but you get the idea. sorry if the silver lower part is greyish

One thing it does shot mw is the two tone effect. Which I think will be cool when done. Wheel choice will be critical and I am not sure that will do!

- Nick325is - 09-13-2006

Much better
