WTB- Small stock Intercooler (Probe, DSM, etc) - Jeff - 09-22-2006 I am looking for a small I/C to toss on the van. Something like a Probe or DSM sidemount. Maybe something off an audi would work too. It must be small (less then 18in square) and have both pipes on the same side. I might be able to get around the pipes, but no huge I/C will fit. Let me know what you have. DJ? DSM sidemount? - ScottyB - 09-23-2006 dammit Jeff, i'd love to give you mine but i'd need a replacement  for the record, you could probably get a 1.8T SMIC for a song if you just hunt around. i believe all versions are tiny and have the pipes on the same side. plastic end tanks too. - KPWSerpiente - 09-23-2006 DSM sidemounts have the inlet on the side and outlet on the top. Metal endtanks though, thankfully. -T - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-23-2006 lol I got 3, pick and choose. 2 2gs and 1 1g - Jeff - 09-24-2006 DJ, where are they at? do you have them here at school with you? - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-25-2006 I brought one down...let me know, ill bring it into work or ill bring it to the Tuesday night meetings or the Wednesday night MM meetings - Jeff - 09-25-2006 I'll be out to Sheetz tuesday night after work. I am off at 8pm. I am working during the MM meeting this week. I am talking to a guy on TD.com about buying his complete intercooler setup he made for his van. He upgraded to a spearco frontmount when he decided to get serious about getting the low 13s. I think it is a probe intercooler with modified pipes. But anyway, bring it to the Sheetz. It is at the University one right? - D_Eclipse9916 - 09-25-2006 The one behind ISAT - Jeff - 09-25-2006 The "kit" I am looking at uses a stock RX-7 Turbo II intercooler. Anyone have any comment of the quality/flow of that one? - CaptainHenreh - 09-25-2006 TurboOmni08 Wrote:The "kit" I am looking at uses a stock RX-7 Turbo II intercooler. Anyone have any comment of the quality/flow of that one? Well, it's normally a top mount turbo, and it's not very big, but most TII guys don't upgrade their ic's until much later, because the piping ends up being stupid. Also, the S4 TII had a smaller intercooler than the S5 TII, so find out what year it's from... If you were planning on doing a top mount turbo, there are worse out there, but you could probably find a WRX top mount for cheap. - Jeff - 09-25-2006 I already have a WRX topmount. But I am not planning on using it. I was gonna use the RX7 one as a front mount. - CaptainHenreh - 09-25-2006 TurboOmni08 Wrote:I already have a WRX topmount. But I am not planning on using it. I mean, I wouldn't have come out and said it on the internet like that. Maybe top mount is the way of the future. Any Suby guy got a hood scoop for me? - HAULN-SS - 09-25-2006 make one. PVC pipe is cheap. |
