A heads up on selling your stuff - sk24iam - 10-18-2006 What's up guys, I recently came across this site. I'm a JMU student and I recently sold my Maxima which I had enjoyed modifying for 3 years. I have extra parts from the car that I plan on selling but I wasn't sure If I would be able to find interested buyers here at school so I recently took initiative to start a free classifieds website for JMU students and local harrisonburg residents. I'm hoping this website will make it easier for students to sell their stuff without going through much of a hassle. I am in no way trying to direct people away from this site, but if you're looking for an additional place to post your stuff for sale check out http://www.madisonxchange.com Anyway, I'm selling: Stinger 1 farad digital cap in chrome 12" carpeted sub box stock 97 max intake stock 97 max ypipe stock 97 max corner lights stock 97 chrome grill 12" sub grill - ScottyB - 10-18-2006 cool, i'm sure that will come in handy for quite a few people here. welcome, too -- from an ex-3rd gen max owner 8) - Jeff - 10-18-2006 very cool site. - CaptainHenreh - 10-19-2006 Shouldn't it be MadisonXchange? - white_2kgt - 10-19-2006 Good job on the site man, I'm impressed. - sk24iam - 10-19-2006 Thanks for the positive comments guys... I'm hoping this will get big so it will be easier for people to sell their furniture when their moving out or get football tickets when they need them. BTW, I've seen the mmsports beer pong table picture on this site. WHoever owns it should submit it to the Madison Xchange contest. If anyone has any suggestions on how to improve the site, please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated. Here are pictures of my maxima. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/407241 I sold it to another student here at JMU so you might see it around campus. - ScottyB - 10-19-2006 white_2kgt Wrote:Good job on the site man, I'm impressed. yeah...wish i had access to something that nice when i was still at jmu - .RJ - 10-19-2006 why not a JMU craigslist? college craigslists would be so money. - Evan - 10-19-2006 insert "casual encounters" joke - HAULN-SS - 10-21-2006 boooo...having to login to post sucks. - .RJ - 10-21-2006 because having a slew of feersty-esque posts by random drunk retards is so much better! - ziich - 10-24-2006 only .edu email addresses allowed? sucks. otherwise, nice site. I posted it to the livejournal community. Hope it takes off. - .RJ - 10-24-2006 You can use a jmu alumni email address then. - sk24iam - 10-24-2006 We set up the site so only .edu addresses are accepted so students feel more comfortable when meeting to to buy something. Also with the ride xchange, we didn't want random people that didn't go to the school posting rides. - ziich - 10-26-2006 good point. - sk24iam - 11-15-2006 Hey guys, just to update everyone, the site has been doing well... Tot hose of you that signed up, thanks for helping to get the site started. I've seen a lot of automobile related ads posted. Anyway, the madison motorsports beer pong table still hasn't been submitted an voting for the contest is in 2 weeks. I'm pretty confident it can win with the help of this community voting for it. Once again, thanks for the support and if anyone has any suggestions for the site, let me know. We have a lot ideas for the future where we hope to expand and become more interactive. Stephen |
