Another 2-wheeled death...... - derilict - 11-10-2006 Any of you guys know the dude that got killed this afternoon in Ashby? If so, my deepest sympahties. Stay safe out there guys. - Feersty - 11-10-2006 Oh no!
- Ryan T - 11-11-2006 From what derilict and the EMT's that come into sheetz said he was going a little over 80mph through Ashby, swerved to miss a car, tank slapped a little, started to low side it, spun a 180 while going down and went body first into a car, his bike then followed and pinned him between his bike and the car. Our beer distributor was at the gas station at the top of the hill and tried to go help him but from what he said the guy was only breathing once about every fifteen or twenty seconds. He died shortly thereafter. I can't verify any of this as it is all second/third hand, but it's what I heard. - ScottyB - 11-11-2006 what an awful way to go, and for what? to get to the red light at the top of the hill faster? stay safe out there everyone - HAULN-SS - 11-11-2006 Yeah, that might be the dumbest shit i've ever heard. I feel worse for his family than I do for him. - Mike - 11-11-2006 fuckin a... tragic. i feel bad for the person he hit, they must feel like shit even though it wasn't their fault. - G.Irish - 11-12-2006 Aw man, hate like to hear shit like this. I hope he wasn't anybody one of us know. Just a reminder of how quickly it can get away from you. Does anyone know what he was riding? - JustinG - 11-12-2006 Some kinda Suxuki, according to the paper, but not clue on the specifics, from what i heard it was a black bike. - derilict - 11-12-2006 Once again, hearing things 2nd and 3rd hand isn't entirely accurate, but I was told he was riding a Katana. In addition, it's also now my understanding that he made a regular habit of this. I'm not about to bash the deceased, that's not cool; however, one can't expect to get away with riding like that for long. And again, this is all speculation, so take it for what you will. - Goodspeed - 11-12-2006 A black Katana...I think this may of been the guy I see every day on campus, always tearing it up and riding aggresively around my dorm...we'll see if I see him tomorrow - BLAIR - 11-13-2006 white97dsm Wrote:Some kinda Suxuki, according to the paper, but not clue on the specifics, from what i heard it was a black bike. from what i saw it was black and grey-silverish in color - Feersty - 11-13-2006 Same person????? Seems like DNR got his name wrong. Its Bruce Staton and not Staton Myers as DNR specifies. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1807291 - Mike - 11-13-2006 pretty sure that is him. he didn't go to jmu... - Maengelito - 11-13-2006 derilict Wrote:Once again, hearing things 2nd and 3rd hand isn't entirely accurate, but I was told he was riding a Katana. But I guess it is not my place. Your friend was going 80mph in a 25mph and he is only one to blame. - Evan - 11-13-2006 Mike Wrote:fuckin a... tragic. i feel bad for the person he hit, they must feel like shit even though it wasn't their fault.I wouldnt feel bad one bit. In fact Id be pissed that my car is damaged and the (former) worlds biggest assmonkey wont be able to pay up. - Mike - 11-13-2006 you wouldn't feel bad, but your typical college-aged female would. - JustinG - 11-13-2006 yea shes probably hating herself right now and has no reason to. - derilict - 11-14-2006 Yeah, actually she is. Turns out one of the girls in my class (who was afraid it might have been me, but whatever) is good friends with the girl that he ran in to. She said she's been a wreck, no pun intended. Yes, I'm sorry he passed, senseless death is just that, senseless. However, it's not hard to fathom why people have a negative connotation attached to motorcylists, especially sportbikes, when shit like this happens. |
