Your morning commute~ - WRXtranceformed - 01-03-2007 So, we have this company-wide meeting at the Pook's Hill Marriott in Bethesda today. Of course we got emails from our manager telling us they'd rather see us dead than late, so I left my house at 6am this morning, anticipating traffic that would completely annihilate me. Well, I got here just before 7am hah, there was absolutely no traffic at all.... at least I was able to blow up their conference center bathroom in peace. Verizon broadband card + laptop = great time killer How is everyone's morning commute? - REED - 01-03-2007 My commute is more than 2 seconds, but I wouldn't really classify it as long and gay. 40 minutes door-to-door on the metro is fine with me. Although the 4 day weekend did make it that much harder to wake up on time - CaptainHenreh - 01-03-2007 I drop off Julie at the train and STILL am in my car for less than 15 minutes. BOOYAH! - Andy - 01-03-2007 Traffic has been light these past two days. My normal commute is ~30 minutes now unless there's an accident on 66, then I'm royally f'ed. I wouldn't mind sitting in a car for an hour if it wasn't work I was headed towards. - Mike - 01-03-2007 my commute is 35 minutes of the best roads in the area. it's long, but hard not to love. - Dragon - 01-03-2007 15 minutes door to door. - PDenbigh - 01-03-2007 With the help of one bank parking lot, I can get to work w/o any stoplights in about 1 minute door to door. Yay for small town VA! - JohnC - 01-03-2007 25 minutes, 25 miles. Except for the last 2 miles, its all twisty back roads... My biggest obstacles are school buses and farm equipment. Needless to say, the VFR makes quick work of both, but the Saturn is usually just stuck. - .RJ - 01-03-2007 14 miles, anywhere from 25 minutes (no traffic) to 40-45 minutes (like this morning). Fuck nova. - ScottyB - 01-03-2007 long and gay! suuuuper! :gay: about 32 miles one way, but i'm going against traffic both ways and i'm also on the highway for 80% of the drive. if i can pull a 40 minute ride i'm doing good. for this reason i've strongly considered tiny displacement beater since i'm pulling about 350 miles per work week. i've found that i can easily tolerate a longer drive that involves actuallly moving as opposed to a shorter drive where i spend 50% of the time parked in traffic. p.s. i too, enjoy a good work deuce. my office is practically uninhabited so i have free reign of the handicap stall at all times. i wish i could take a book in there - Apoc - 01-03-2007 4 miles, about 10 minutes depending on 1 particular traffic light - BLINGMW - 01-03-2007 ScottyB Wrote:i've strongly considered tiny displacement beater smaller than a 1.8 and more broken than your current car? Good luck! Jess and I carpool most days, ~18 minutes. - Hunter - 01-03-2007 I walk uphill both ways in the snow for... 150 yards to the engineering building. Best commute ever. - ScottyB - 01-03-2007 BLINGMW Wrote:ScottyB Wrote:i've strongly considered tiny displacement beater LOL...touche! - JackoliciousLegs - 01-03-2007 20 miles... 50 minutes at best (1h45 at worst). I work from home most of the time though. BOOOYAH! - Beej - 01-03-2007 ~18 miles, Arlington to Rockville. Usually about 30 min as long as I don't head home before 6-6:30. - WRXtranceformed - 01-03-2007 Nice! Not too terrible commutes overall ^_^ I drove an hour out to Bethesda this morning, then another 1 and a half hours from there to Winchester, with another half an hour drive home tonight. 3 hours out of my day driving =P I honestly really don't mind it a whole lot though, unless I get stuck in traffic and it takes longer. I usually just blast some KSky and go off into my own little world when I drive  - Maengelito - 01-03-2007 12.5 miles, 20-30 minutes in the morning (depending on how crappy the stoplights are on 29) and about 30-40 minutes in the evening (depending on how many retards have gotten into accidents on 29) - Feersty - 01-03-2007 My commute is 18 miles. From Springfield to Bolling AFB. In the morning it is about 30-40 minutes. 295 sucks ass! In the afternoon it is a little shorter, Overlook Avenue is the bottleneck in the afternoon. Much better than my 23 mile commute to Chantilly, which took 45 minutes minimum and usually 55minutes to an hour. - HAULN-SS - 01-26-2007 My commute is about 4 miles, all on sunrise valley rd. I leave at 7:40, stop by mcdonalds, and get here before 8. W00t |
