I picked them up at Colemans over the weekend and went out for a short ride with them this afternoon to see if I cant break them in.

Initial impressions are very good - they're stitched inside out, so the seams are on the outside of the glove - makes for a pretty comfortable fit. The leather is really sturdy and very comfortable right out of the box. I really have no complaints - i wish the ring and pinky fingers were 'linked' like on the higher end A* stuff, but not a deal breaker. These gloves are also ALOT nicer than the $160 A* gloves as well.

Overall, great buy - I just hope they hold up Smile

Here I thought I was a whore when it comes to accessories - RJ has taken the cake.

Hope these ones work for you. if not just man up and get some GP Techs Tongue

I am sure Apoc will come and tell you to get some Helds

As sure as I was that you'd come and tell everybody to buy GP Techs.

I never said A* was the ultimate greatest. With the amount of money RJ has spent on gloves - he could have saved himself money with just getting some GP Techs. some gloves he even said he enjoyed.

Everyone has their own preference in gear. What is wrong in recommending what I enjoy? Is that not what this post is about? Recommending/reviewing a decent glove?

How? The GP Techs arent going to magically be winter, summer and track gloves all in one.

When I look at those gloves, all I hear in my head is "Two men enter, one man leave."

- Sijray21 - 04-10-2007

What gloves are you coming from / comparing them too? Just wondering for future purchases. I'll stay tuned for a long-term update on these as well Smile

I've got a pair of A* SP1 gloves - they suck. They sucked from day one, and they suck just as hard now. The leather is tough, they took a long time to break in and they just arent comfortable. Oh, and then they got wet and got even less comfortable. You could crash pretty good and it looks like they'd hold up though. I've also got a pair of fairly thin AGV gloves that I wear most of the time on the street - they were cheap and they're really comfortable, but I wouldnt wear them on track. I also have some winter gloves... they're toasty Smile

I tried on some other stuff at coleman just for comparison - the A* gp-pro (I think? They were $160-170) and some JR gloves.

The reason for buying these was to have something to wear on track this season and weekend rides.

i do not ride in winter so i can only comment for spring/summer/autumn gloves

- .RJ - 04-10-2007

.paul Wrote:I do not see why the GP Techs would not hold up for your winter/track days?

Well, I ride to work when its 30 deg outside sometimes. A* GP Techs, or the gloves I just bought wont cut it, not even close. They'd be nice for track days... I found some on ebay for $150-160 new, so not a bad option for that price.

- .paul - 04-10-2007

Personally I would not spend 200 on gloves - and I did not, I got my GP Techs for 140. Plus the money from a visa gift card from work.

Aside from that, I feel GP Tech's are great gloves. Granted I do not ride in 30 degree weather so I could not say they are winter gloves. BUT I have ridden in 45 degree weather, which to me is probably the coldest I chose to ride in. And they worked great.

Dont let the [Image: kool.gif] stain your tongue Wink

I never said they werent good gloves, not sure why you are defending them....

i actually have these and i also tried on the SP-series gloves from A*

I noticed that the GP-Pro's significantly felt like a better glove. I was able to get them off eBay for $120 *new* shipped. I was looking at the GP-Tech's, but i thought it more of a track-dedicated glove than a street/track glove. They took about 1-2 weeks of riding to break in, but they're holding up great and i can't imagine getting another glove. i wanted to see the long-term results of this glove though, just to compare.
