Man up! - HAULN-SS - 09-27-2007

If you're a moderator, and you're going to move, delete, edit, or censor a post - own it.

That is all.

Thanks

- .RJ - 09-27-2007

How about stop wasting everyone's time with your useless and poorly thought out posting?

- HAULN-SS - 09-27-2007

shhhhh

- .RJ - 09-27-2007

Yeah, dont bring logic or accountability in here.... how absurd?

- HAULN-SS - 09-27-2007

accountability is exactly what i'm trying to bring in here.

- .RJ - 09-27-2007

How about accountability for yourself?

- HAULN-SS - 09-27-2007

Can you be more specific, or are you grasping at straws?

I gotta run for a bit, I expect a well thought out response to read when I get back.

It would be nice if we got a well thought out response from you once in a while, too.

Do you just want somebody to yell at when they move, delete, or otherwise edit your posts that suck extra? What are you going to do with the information? Throw a tantrum?

That's exactly what he wants. He wants to play victim. I, for one am excited that we are deleting some of his drivel. I've had my posts deleted before, and with good reason too, it didn't seem like it at the time, but that's why we have moderators.

- Evan - 09-27-2007

This is not a random collection of people on the internet. It is a group of people who know each other and are related in Real LifeÔäó
So moderation in the typical sense we are used to is not applicable here. 'Moderators' are not special people or endowed with any better judgement or social status than anyone else.
The only reasons a post should ever be deleted outright is if it were threatening, illegal or otherwise , especially without any kind of posting guidelines or rules for the forum. And to do it without notifying the poster is a new level of low.

In that respect it goes both ways here. We all know each other and get along in Real life(Ôäó) so there's no need to continue shitting up threads and posting assinine commentary. If someone wants to walk into my house and keep talking shit, well eventually I'm going to have to regulate

As for the forum guidelines, since we all know each other is it really needed, while deferring to common sense and doing this only as needed? Its not like there are hundreds of thousands of pimple faced internet e-wankers (like H-T, nasioc, etc) that need constant supervision.

it doesnt apply both ways at all. who are you to decide what is appropriate and isnt? do you decide what I can and cant say when we are hanging out? absolutely not

i can use your argument why a post should never be deleted.
you can either delete posts according to guidelines, or you can not delete posts. its pretty simple. even the random collection of internet douchebag forums only delete posts based on forum rules.

No but I can kick your ass outta my house!

Yeah, and every forum rules generally has some grey area in it to exercise some common sense for what belongs, and what doesnt.

We shouldnt need guidelines to justify removing posts that serve no purpose other than to shit up someone's tech thread. Its not that hard just to play nice in the first place.

If this was actually done then there'd be like 3 post / day on this forum

I haven't missed the point, I agree w/ Evan on this one, probably b/c both of us have been in the situation before, Evan getting post deleted me getting post deleted AND getting banned w/o the nut fucker manning up to it.

Evan Wrote:how hypocritical. you shit up every thread that derek or feerst posts in.

And I dont start threads or whine about it when my posts are deleted too.
