Hawk HP+ pads, yay or nay - ScottyB - 07-14-2004 well i found i might be able to get some half used hawk hp+'s for my front brakes for 30 bucks shipped. i heard hp+'s dust bad, and squeel like a schoolbus (that will f up the effect of my whistle tips) but otherwise, how decent would you say they are for DD and auto-x? will they need too much heat to be decent at the speeds i will be braking from? my car is roughly 3200 lbs. or so with me in it. so would you say not worth the 30 bucks, or should i give it the college try? im not totally sure of pricing on other decent performance pads but i would say they are usually like 60 bucks or so right? - Dave - 07-14-2004 HP+ are what are on the IV right now and what I bought for the 240. They do dust pretty bad, but they only squeal occaisionally. Stops the car real good, but I've got nothing to really compare it against. 30 bucks is worth a shot at least. - BLINGMW - 07-14-2004 buy 'em. Yeah, anything else would be somewhere around $60 and this will be a good way to see if you like them. Mine squeal almost all the time and I love 'em. Some cars, they don't make a chirp ever. They stop very well even when cold, the perfect autocross pad. And I've never had problems with them at driver schools. - JackoliciousLegs - 07-14-2004 just pay an extra 30 and get a new set of HPSs - .RJ - 07-14-2004 HPS's suck ass, they arent any better than stock pads. - Sijray21 - 07-14-2004 .RJ Wrote:HPS's suck ass, they arent any better than stock pads. ur talking about HPS's not HP+'s right? hopefully axxis ultimates work well, just ordered a set from carbotech, along with their blank rotors - .RJ - 07-14-2004 theguywiththeSi Wrote:ur talking about HPS's not HP+'s right? I said HPS? HP+ are great if you can tolerate the noise/dust. - Sijray21 - 07-14-2004 you can get a new set of HP+'s for your car from tirerack for $71 for the front set and $66 for the rear. Click Here - JackoliciousLegs - 07-14-2004 HPSs aren't ANY better than trash auto specials? - .RJ - 07-14-2004 JackoliciousLegs Wrote:HPSs aren't ANY better than trash auto specials? I said stock pads. - JackoliciousLegs - 07-14-2004 okey... gotcha. - Evan - 07-14-2004 nay Ultimates are m0 betta, and not much more than $30 for brandy new ones. - Mike - 07-14-2004 Evan Wrote:nay You obviously haven't bought them recently. - .RJ - 07-14-2004 http://www.cobaltfriction.com/prod_cata ... -honda.htm $60 for ultimates. Dammit, I'm supposed to be the one with the reading comprehension problem here. - ScottyB - 07-14-2004 well i took the bait and am in the process of buying them. probably wont put them on til i get back to jmu, so you fools can help me tear my car apart with me since my newb arse doesn't know how to change pads... - CaptainHenreh - 07-14-2004 Dave Wrote:... but they only squeal occaisionally. Stops the car real good, Dave lies. They squeal like an gay man watching an N-Sync video. - Feersty - 07-14-2004 Do they make those pads for the Buick? My brakes sux0rs Carbotechs? HP+? HPS? - Mike - 07-14-2004 Feersty Wrote:Do they make those pads for the Buick?
