Spring Time Stupidity - PDenbigh - 05-01-2008 For all you on two wheels - This was the scene in front of digerati today: (Ignore the date on the pic, camera isn't set) Story from the cop and from our tech - Tech (in black Jeep) was coming into our parking lot, when he heard "vrrrrm! - Wham!" The guy on the bike appearently took off hard from the light by Sheetz, heading up University. He must have been looking somewhere other than ahead of him because he slammed full force into the side of the jeep. Interesting, there was an undercover cop RIGHT BEHIND THE BIKE, who watched it all happen. Doah for the biker, whew for the jeep. ANYhow, the moral of this story is two things: 1. Put on some damn gear! The biker was wearing shorts, short sleeves, and Vans shoes not laced up. One shoe ended up closer to our office in the parking lot than the guy's foot. 2. It's spring, we've all been couped up, but save it for the track. Redlight drag races in 4:30-5:00 traffic just aren't worth it. Be careful out there guys! I am not sure who the poor biker is, but I hope he's ok. Anyone recognize the bike? - Mike - 05-01-2008 i doesn't follow... was the bike going the same direction as the guy in the jeep? or was the jeep coming across the biker's lane? - PDenbigh - 05-01-2008 They hit perpendicular. Jeep was coming from Exxon torward us, the bike was coming up University. The Jeep was creaping across traffic and was 1/2 way into the inside lane, which unfortunately so was the biker. Jeep was stopped when the biker hit, so says the cop. I'm not sure who is to blame for the accident, and I don't think that's where you were going with your question.
