Ford: please put this engine in small, rwd car!

4550 lbs. of silly

Re: mom's taurus will own you - ViPER1313 - 10-09-2009

While I would love to see the engine in a smaller, lighter car, the trend is larger and heavier. The current S5 weighs 4300lbs, an E-class is 4000lbs. Besides, if it weighed 3300lbs you couldn't have seats that massaged you as you go down the road, a crazy sound system, DVD nav, etc..... If you want a small, light track car go buy a Miata. I will be picking one of these up when the Pontiac is paid off.

i'd be down for an ecoboost stang. spartan interior, minimal power crap, track pack. but of course that's heresy when there's a 5.0 to be had.

if i was in the market for a family barge i'd definitely be after an SHO though.

A Boss Mustang with a spartan interior, minimal power crap to none, track pack, and BIG brakes is on the way as well. Ford has some mean s**t in the pipe line...

Just thank all the safety nazis and people who cant live without bluetooth200diskautonavigationbackupcamera equipped cars. Huge safety beams, crumple zones and 100 yards of copper add up to a lot of weight.

Taken from SHOForum...

Quote:This past summer during the premier of ÔÇ£The Tonight ShowÔÇØ with Conan OÔÇÖBrien, OÔÇÖBrienÔÇÖs infamous 1992 Taurus SHO was one of the ÔÇÿcelebritiesÔÇÖ he chose to kick-off his role as host of the late-night hit. Following that skit, we heard from many of you asking us to introduce OÔÇÖBrien to the all-new 2010 Taurus SHO.

Tonight, you donÔÇÖt have to wait any longer. Working with our Global Brand Entertainment team, the momentum for FordÔÇÖs all-new flagship continues when 2010 Taurus SHO makes its late night appearance during a skit on the ÔÇ£The Tonight ShowÔÇØ with Conan OÔÇÖBrien.

Tune in to NBC tonight (11:35 p.m. ET / 10:35 p.m. CT) to see if the 2010 Taurus SHO can win over OÔÇÖBrienÔÇÖs affection, trumping his beloved green ÔÇÿ92 Taurus SHO.
