I wouldn't pay $3,400 for it in that condition, fwiw.
What's wrong with the VFR? It's an excellent bike (if it hasn't given you any electrical problems yet).
The bike has alittle over 30,000 miles on it, so I'm thinkin that it needs a valve adjustment, and the steering head and swing arm pivot bearings need to be re-packed. I have never laid a wrench on a motorcycle, seeing as this is the first one i've owned, and I bought it in May, so I'm alittle intimidated by these maintenance proceedures. It has some body damage, nothing major, mainly just scratches and scrapes from where the previous owner laid it down. I haven't had any electrical problems **knock on wood**. I recently had the opportunity to ride a buddy of mine's R6, and it felt a whole lot more nimble than the VFR. I'm really thinkin that a lighter bike might be more fun. The VFR has new tires on it, and a guy I know at school might want to buy it. I have about $2200 in it total, and I just want to break even. That means that there would be an additional 1200 dollars that I would have to dish out for this 02 R6, which other than the scrapes is in good shape. I just don't know if 3400 is an excessive amount for this bike with the body damage. This is what the bike looks like on the other side (see below). If it isn't a good deal, I would rather just keep my bike until I can find another bike at a fair price. Thanks for the advice!
