Anyway, I got my Sparco Suit in,

[Image: Img_9100.jpg]

I think it fits me a little, uh, tighter Smile
[Image: IMG_9104.jpg]

Anyway, I got it from Rally Nuts. The suit is a Sparco Sprint 5 3 Layer (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO%5FRace%5FSuits%5F1690/Sparco_Sprint_5_Race_Suit_1647.asp">http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO% ... t_1647.asp</a><!-- m -->). Pretty heavy, I'm sure I would sweat to death in the summer if I didn't have the cool shirt (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.2kgt.com/item.php?itemid=127">http://www.2kgt.com/item.php?itemid=127</a><!-- m -->).

The neck support is a Sparco Advanced (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO%5FProducts%5F1713/Sparco_Advanced_Neck_Brace_565.asp">http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO% ... ce_565.asp</a><!-- m -->).

I also got a few pairs of Nomex socks (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO%5FUnderwear%5F1706/Sparco_Nomex_Socks_Calf_Length_753.asp">http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO% ... th_753.asp</a><!-- m -->).

I already had the simpson gloves, and the Simpson shoes. I should be getting a new Helmet (SA2000) in a few weeks as well. I'm looking at the G-Force Pro Force Air Helmet.

Well, that pretty much sets ME up for racing next season, just need to get the car ready.

I love the pics on the wall. Most couples have pictures of themselves and such. Instead, it's your car. Awesome purchase by the way. How's the car coming?

nice suit. just hang a green tree odor thingy inside it when you're done for the weekend and you shouldn't have to wash it for years!

Damn right! I won't be getting the car back until end of January. Once the body shop is done, it is going right to the fab shop for a full cage.

Nah, I've got other things to spend that kind of money on that will do me more good than a HANS.

Like what? Its only around 700 or 800 dollars. You know what they say, if you can't afford to be safe...

Exactly, I think a HALON system would provide MORE protection than a HANS. A HANS is designed for a specific type of impact, where a full HALON system will protect in ANY type of fire Wink. I just don't buy the HANS. Good for NASCAR requiring them, those guys are going 200mph all the time, wreck ALL the time and spend 50-60k in engines every weekend.

Chad, watch this - <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.rdtmotorsports.com/video/arrc/arrc1.avi">http://www.rdtmotorsports.com/video/arrc/arrc1.avi</a><!-- m --> (crash at 3:57)

Got tapped from behind after avoiding the miata checking up in T12, and went straight into the wall. Look at how far her head moves in the impact, and she was wearing an Isaac H&N restraint in an ITC car (90hp, slow as they come). And then there was the SM racer last year that was wearing a hans and got a minor neck fracture - if he wasnt, he would've been in a wheelchair or in a box.

I certainly wont have a Hans (or isaac/r3/etc) for most of next year but it is on the list of things that I feel I need to have. I think to say that because you're not going 200mph and you dont 'buy' it is absurd.

I never said it wasn't 'useful', what I'm saying is I don't have unlimited funds. I'd rather spend the saftey budget on things that I feel would do me more benifit than a hans. For that kind of money I feel a full halon system, better seat, etc would provide more protection in a wider range of possible accidents than a HANS.

you sure you want halon? Can't ship it, no-one wants to refill it, who's even selling halon systems anymore? It's just not as effective at putting out a fire in a car as AFFF is (from what I've gathered at the last couple of race car parts places I've worked). And if it does put out a fire, it might put YOU out too.

You can get halon refilled - its not being currently produced, but there's more than enough supply.

It may not be as effective as AFFF for some things, but for electrical fires and clean up (i.e. almost none) its much better. If you do have to discharge an AFFF bottle its going to make one hell of a mess. This going on the assumption that if you do need to discharge it, its going to be for a minor incident. When I get a fire system it'll be Halon.

damn right, no WAY I want to clean up AFFF inside the car, just ask pete how long it took him to get his engine clean :lol: :lol:
I'm gonig to have AFFF bottle (no nozzles) in the car for now until I can afford HALON
