What do YOU want to see happen in MM next year?
#1
Hey everyone. We're compiling a list of things we want to plan or look into next year. There are tons of good ideas spread out across the officer election threads, but those are kind of hard to pick through, so I figured we could consolidate them to here. I'll be taking these ideas down and putting them into a word document for us to look over throughout the year.

Here are some things right off the bat we need to focus on:

Student Org Night
Kline’s meet
Get MM in the Yearbook
Karting
Car Show
Drag Nights
TopGear/Forza/ Hangout Nights
Cruises
Apparel Order (Multiple Shirt designs. Contact shirt place on Neff)
New Stickers?
Auto-Crosses
Track weekends
Cars and Coffee
Convo Cleanup

While posting an idea doesn't automatically mean will we do it, all Ideas are welcome!

Did a 12 year old take over Kaan's account?

Scott, we'll let you know if we decide to test out a new design. We'll most likely stick with the current one (in yellow on black if you want to try and tackle that) or an older one.

No I'm just getting old and crazy... I only disagreed with the public eye part

Officers Forum Wrote:I figured I could keep this out of the public eye.

What do I want to see happen in the coming year?

I want for the club's financial records to be kept in public and updated at least once a month in the Officer's Corner, in this very thread  There should be no question exactly how much money the club has at any given time, where money is being spent, etc. The fact that we did not donate any money to charity or give monetary prizes at this year's car show was alarming to me when the club has collected:

-$600 in ad revenue since the last administration
-Entry fees for the car show
-Dues
-Donations

I want to know where the money is being spent so the club can prioritize events and cover large financial obligations.

I don't know where that came from. Is there some secret sub forum I don't know about?

Also, I should point out that I'm the only officer not inundated with finals right now. Hence me being the only to respond to this thread.

Very busy indeed, but you can get that Kaan. After we line up all of what we plan for the fall and Chip gets a chance to look at $$$ we can shoot you our plan via electronic mail.

Very very busy  Anthony and I are meeting up on Wednesday to work on signing over the account, and I would be happy to talk to you, other alumni, and the other officers about our plans for next year as far as the finances and planning events go.

I, for one, like this idea. This could provide freshman and people without cars someone they can rely on in the club to give them rides to events and other functions of MM. They could also keep them updated on events and cruises Big Grin

If anything, it will force the upperclassmen to make a lasting impression on the new guys. I know the only reason I stuck around was Sam talking to me in the parking lot.

Yeah, an "MM" cars and coffee is way too big of a liability for the club, the show is a once a year thing, there's a liability but not that bad since its not often. Something that would happen often is not a good idea, because if good things actually show up and something happens to one, MM could be in a bunch of trouble. Cool idea but new officers need to think about it as officers not just members who want cool stuff to happen.

Lol what? Big liability for people to come park their car and drink coffee? I see what your trying to get at but I think you're pretty far out there. A small scale cars and coffee in hburg would be a great thing not just for the club but for the community enthusiasts as well.

Check back in the treasurer thread. I got you .

What I'd like to see as a student is what we officers messed up this year. Taylor I know you've read what people have said so you should have a good idea on what to do.

New things I'd like to see is:

1. Getting more students to stay involved whether that be big/little system or somehow offering prizes or cool things to students who attend. Maybe raffles for discounts to autocross or hyperdrives?

2. More social events that more people attend whether it be dinner, cooking out, parties, or doing stupid stuff, etc...

3. Get more students out to track/auto-x events. It is a difficult one to fix I know.

4. Fundraising so we can get more students to come out by offering discounts to things as mentioned above. This is a difficult topic too

I think he means liability in the way of people doing burnouts, wrecking leaving, etc...

I say do it for the cars and coffee though. I think everyone will be okay and people who are asshats won't be let in?

I like the idea of a cars & coffee (or, screw it, Kars & Kline's on S. Main on a Sunday evening).

Re: track day attendance... if there is anything that I can do to help bring people out, let me know. My hope is that Matthew being both an officer and NASA official will help drive more people to the track again. We need to see the MM Hyperdrive Pain Train back in action!
