Hyperfest is the ultimate motorsports destination and this year it's at VIR on May 19th and 20th. NASA Road racing, Drifting, Lawn Mower Racing, Burnout contests, RallyCross, Bike racing, car shows and much more! This weekend is the weekend most of us anticipate all year and there is NO reason not to make out. Hotels are on site and nearby, but the best action is camping out with everyone either in the camping area or the NASA paddock if you're lucky enough. DO NOT MISS THIS EVENT!

Who all is going? I want to camp, but I'd like to camp in the NASA paddock so I can hang out with my buddies last year. Maybe I'll see if Laura will let me be on Sandwich patrol again.

I'm glad you made this thread as I was about to this morning. Is anyone camping? I've been calling VIR to book a room since January. Every couple weeks I would call and they would say they aren't taking reservations yet but I am on the list. Well they never called back to get credit card info so after a few weeks I decided to call again on Monday only to have someone tell me they are all booked.....hmmmm. Still haven't been able to reach Paula in booking to confirm I got a reservation or not. Trying to come up with other options at this point because I have zero faith that these hillbillies will have my reservation.

What kind of place doesn't take reservations for an event 4 months out?

That was my thought. I'm now #21 on the waitlist for a room at the lodge. Time to figure out other plans. Maybe I'll get lucky and Maeng will randomly call and book a room last minute even though the "waitlist" is 20 people long :dunno:

I can try to schwing some paddock passes again, will see how far I get batting my eyelashes at the right people.

Will be there Thursday night through Sunday. Racing Saturday/Sunday and doing who-knows-what (test & tune? giving rides?) on Friday.

Would I be able to get into paddock without passes? You can still walk in, right? I just can't drive in it? May come check it out but not sure about staying. It's kind of a hike for a day trip but I wouldn't want to have to camp out in the middle of nowhere by myself
