Fuck those lying, theiving, sack of shit sons of bitches. Sprint can lick my sweaty beanbag. Nothing quite sums up "incompetence of an entire fucking organization" like "PCS"
That is all.

Hate if for ya man, what happened? I've always been happy with my sprint service.

I ordered a new phone. Paid for overnight shipping. I called and said "where is it?" the next day, and they said it would be delivered that day. Next day after that (today) I called and said "where is it?" and I was told it was on backorder... when I ordered it.
Also, I extended my contract for 1 year to get $100 off the phone. I was told they renewed my contract for 2 years instead when I called today... how nice of them. They will be hearing from me monday morning in customer service, if i can talk my way out of the contract I'll switch providers.
This is all after getting the runaround on the phone, and in the store wading through piles of bullshit just to order the ffing phone (cant even buy it in a sprint store), and some bitch telling me I have to cancel my current contract and start a new one just to get the $100 off, and putting me on hold 37 times.
Fuck sprint. At least the lesbian avatar is back.

jesus, that is some messed up shit
This really goes to the root of a much, much larger problem - the piss poor quality of service positions in this country, and something thats been pissing me off for a long time.
While we move away from a manufacturing economy towards a technical/functional/service economy, there really should be a bigger effort made by these companies to perform in the service arena. But they dont... and we're fucked.
As gerald put it, they made the sale at the cost of potentially losing a customer - or at minimum, they are going to eat a larger $$ amount than they would have given back with the mail in rebate.
I will admit it, that sometimes I do have high expectations, but when I've been paying $50/month for the past 2.5 years, you would think that they would be a bit more accomodating and honest with me - especially when I call customer service and get someone from Bangalore on the phone who refuses to deviate from their script because the company has discouraged thinking for themselves.

hehe aol's call center is in bangalore, but we've had so many complaints we're moving to an autmoated voice recogntion system (which is actually pretty damn good, i did some testing on it).

i think all cell phone companies are thieves. AOL stuck me with a $150 bill after I my "free mobile to mobile minutes" weren't really free. Fuck ATT too.
PS. I argued my way out of that one.
ok guys, since all of you have experience with cell phones around H-burg, and I do not (mine sucks ass and isn't located around here) can I get recommendations? I'm getting a new one over christmas break. I just want a base plan with free nights and weeknds, cheap-ass phone, voicemail or callerID, easy to use non-flip phone, and ~600-1500 minutes.
i was happy with cingular in hburg.
i used to pay 30/mo for nationwide, 300 minutes, unlimited nights/weekends.
i now pay 40/mo for nationwide, 800 minutes?, unlimited nights/weekends and rollover...

I have been very pleased with sprint so far, Ive had them and the same phone for about two years. I have never had a problem with service here in the burg, and little problem getting service from florida to RI. I can't vouch for their customer service becasue i never needed it. (once the inner screen of my phone just stopped working and they gave me a new phone no hassle). right now my bill is around $35 for 300 anytime minutes, free nights and weekends, and free sprint - to - sprint calling (i dont know if that was a special deal when i signed up)....(the free sprint to sprint part) - again i have been very very happy with sprint and would like to stick with them, however none of their new phones have really sparked my interest.
only time I have had to contact support was due to a billing error, I got a US native that spoke good english, fixed the error without fuss, and actually upgraded my plan for no charge.
I've had 0 problems with sprint as well. Pay no attention to Ryan's rants he just has bad luck with cell phones.
Ryan just has bad luck with life
ryan is bad at cell phones like matt is bad at housing.

I recommend T-Mobile - I get great reception everywhere (HBurg, Frederick and the whole DC-Metro area, even upstate NY) and get 300min for $30 a month. For $40 a month you get a nationwide 1000min plan with free weekends -and nights???- (and a killer phone - I got a $150 Samsung flip with external caller ID, color screen, etc for free when I signed up for the $40 a month plan - then I just lowered the plan next month and kept the phone.) You can choose other phones than the flip if you want to though. Good luck.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Worst coverage by far of any cell phone i have used

N-Telos.
Or T-Mobile. N-Telos you can drive to their office and rip them new assholes. T-Mobile, on the other hand, has Catherine Zeta Jones. Tough call.
Best cellular company I ever had was US Cellular. The worst, far and away, was Suncom. If you don't like sprint, quitcherbitchin. Go get a "year" contract with Suncom and see if you're not ready to pop some caps in some whack-ass muthafuckas!
