kinda like how they had one issue devoted to testing a bunch of sport compacts to see which one could do the longest burnout....what a bunch of douches

The FQ400 reminds me a bit of the ole 22B but it doesn't look quite as cool to me for some reason (maybe the fender flares?). I suppose if you're a big time Mitsu fan it'd be an awesome once of a lifetime buy but for people looking for supercar performance out of their saloon I imagine most would just hop up their regular Evo.

And even though I'm sure it could embarass many a Porsche and Ferrari I doubt its going to win over the guy who was gonna buy a F430. Thumb up to Mitsu for having the balls to make a car like this though.

how long is an engine going to last with output like that? but yeah it doesn't matter...Lancers are a dime a dozen. EVO just adds some extra rice.

BTW...I'm purposefully being the devils advacate. I admit that the stats are impressive. I'm just not a big fan of over achievers!

I think it's amazing that a 4 banger has that kind of output, AND this one has a factory warranty ! lol

But on the same token, like G.Irish said, couldn't you probably get the same performance (or even better) out of a stock EVO that you pimp out for less money ?

It all goes back to what I pointed out earlier. It's still an EVO ! They're nice cars, no h8 at all but....it's not the type of car that people are like WOW that's an $85,000 car. In my opinion, if you're spending that much money on a car, you want it to pop out to every commoner on the streets as being an expensive ass car... not a fast ricer that could be mistaken for 1521612641237 other ones on the street.

Well its not too far fetched of a concept, look at Saleen Mustangs. Thing is tho that Saleens look significantly different fromt he average Mustang. I think the FQ400 needs to look meaner and more radical.

I also think the timing might be a bit wrong for the car. If Mitsu had just won the World Rally Championship it would be perfect. But they didn't compete much this year and they're in big financial trouble.

What sucks though is that a relatively small car company like Mitsu would take a risk like this but someone like Honda takes 15 years to redesign their flagship sports car or someone like Toyota kills theirs all together Sad. If only the big boys had as much heart.

soooooo true. Toyota needs to grow some nuts, and Honda needs to start using the one they have left.

The New Acura NSX is based at $89,000. Would you rather have an $84,000 EVO or an NSX?

you know what sucks? i was thinking to myself today after seeing a new tl (damn they look nice) and remembering the "race tl" that acura is preparing and how not-as-fast-as-it-could-be i think it will be... if acura made the tl and tsx rwd, i'd be so happy. hell, i'd probably buy either one of them in a heartbeat and many others would follow suit! argh![/rant]

I think you'll see an SH-AWD TL in this generation or the next. TSX will probably stay FWD though. I'd also venture that there will be another SH-AWD or RWD Acura other than the NSX in a few years. Other than the next gen NSX that is...
