Plans for the SE-R

Edited again: Items in bold are all done and installed. I'm still undecided on what to do next. What do you guys think? Suspension, Engine, Cooling? I guess for whatever I do, the first step is to earn some money ...

For those that don't know, I drive a 91 SE-R. It currently has an I/H/E, Hyperco springs, AGX struts, AD22 brakes, ss brake lines and axis ultimates all around. I was bored in chemistry, so I made up this list of what I'd like to do to the car. Feel free to comment or give constructive criticism.

Engine
-SR20VE swap
-PR CAI
-HS Gen 6 header
-2.5 inch exhaust with throttle actuated cutout at 3inch secondary
-JWT ECU
-ADJ FPR
-Oil cooler
-Koyo Radiator
-JWT cams
-Walboro fuel pump
-wet nitrous kit (about a 75 shot)
-prothan mm, ground kit, and a few other little things

With no nitrous, it should put down about 220 whp. On the bottle Im hoping for close to 300. Should be good for 13's with no nitrous, and 12's with.

Tranny
-Nismo 1.5 way LSD
-ACT HDSS clutch
-Cyro/shot peened gears
-Welded tranny case
-Raxle axles, and some MT90
-May upgrade to a B15 tranny

Suspension
-Progress coilovers (350 front, 250 rear)
-Progress rear bar
-Full ES kit
-Stillen front strut bar, active tuning rear
-GC camber plates
-Custom control arms

Brakes
-Fastbrakes kit up front
-Maxima rear brakes
-SS brake lines
-Axis ultimates on the street, valvolyne synpower fluid

Exterior
-15 inch rotas (whatever the TE37 knock offs are) on potenza 950's
-Stillen front bumper
-CF hood, painted to match the car
-New aztec red paint job (same as it is now)
-Tsuru Headlights and grille (from the new b13 sentra in mexico)

Interior and Misc stuff
-Techtom MDM 100
-Guages, mounted where the radio is currently: oil temp, oil pressure, feul pressure
-Valentine one, mounted in gauge cluster (replacing the clock).
-Tsuru floor mats
-Redue the headliner
-Add power windows and locks
-Add cruise control
-short throw shifter
-Relocated battery to trunk
-Autopower Roll Bar
-Some new stock looking seats

Thats the jist of it. I already have some of this. I'd like to get the new motor in by the springtime. Already have the MAF and the new Gen6 header for it.

If I remember correctly, Rex has an SR20VE motor that he would gladly part with for cheap. Rex man, chime in and get rid of that pile!

That's on odd motor to have laying around, but if he does have one that'd be great!!!

I have a JDM SR20DE. Not a VE. But yes, it's sitting in my garage, you can have it for 125 bucks, it's a complete longblock with adjustable cam gears and a blingin' red valve cover. Please come get it so I can buy my head! I'll even bring it to you.

Tempting. Not that I really need it, but there's just something about having an extra motor laying around to mess with. Do you know what it came out of? compression tested or any of that? Also, where do you live, or should I ask, where is the motor?

The last car it came out of was a 200SX SE-R, and while I don't have compression results, but it was running. The JDM part is unconfirmed, this engine was the result of a bad business deal that I'd just as soon forget.

But really, the head, cams and adj. cam gears are worth more than I'm asking.

Hmm, ok, so its not the original 200SX motor (Since you said its a JDM SR)? Where is the motor located?

Hmm, I'm hesitant to say that I will definatley do it, but I hope to. Some of the stuff on the list is already done. The progress sway bar and ES kit should be done this winter. Next spring I'd like to do the motor, which would include the clutch, intake, header (already have the new gen6), ECU, and exhaust.

I had a good friend that tossed nitrous on his SER.... He had it tuned.. blah blah blah..... nitrous blew his motor. Oh well, off he sent to to JGY Customs or whatever that place is down in roanoke for an sr20det.

Yup, its JGY customs, actually about an hour or two past roanoke. Done properly, the sr20 can handle about a 150 shot of nitrous.

. Next items to be check off will be the oil cooler, adj fpr, cams, and control arms.

At least probably, im kind of torn on what to do. One of my big things is having it ready for the track, so the oil cooler is a high priority. There are also going to be some custom control arms coming out, and they may only do a one time run so I'd like to have the cash ready for that as well. These control arms will go a long way to reduce the sentras crappy suspension geometry. Right now, a lowered sentra losses negative camber under roll. These control arms will change that so we gain negative camber under roll, about .6 or .7 degrees per inch. They will raise they roll center back up to where it should be. It will also solve the problem of cv joints binding and increase axle life. In short, it means more honda's slain, which is really what its all about

I also really want a new paint job, because my 14 year old car is, well, looking like a 14 year old car. Unfortunatly, im looking at at least 2g's for a decent paint job. I may end up doing it myself.
