I am interested in possibly working or flagging this weekend. Does anyone know off the top of their dome whether you get paid that first weekend of flag instruction, or have to train while not getting compensated? I have flagged weekends before, so would that mean I can immediately start getting $75 a day?

If someone could invoke some knowledge regarding this it would be appreciated.

as long as Laura C. agrees you've flagged before, then you'll get the cash that weekend.

like mike said, its not great to bail out, but they have a 1 week notice cancelation policy if that helps your decision at all.

Navin, I would register now if I were you. There is always a waiting list for these events, so NASA is gonna fill that spot regardless. I don't advise signing up with the intentions of bailing, but if you do everything you can to make yourself be there, then that is all that can be expected.

I would like to take a flag course / do work for this weekend if there are any spots left. I have never flagged so I guess I wouldnt get the credits first time - thats fine w/ me.
