Well, these are a few pictures of me and my friends on our way home from college. The black dsm is mine. Both the white and black dsms will be having Front Mounts installed as soon as we can get em in my garage. Both of em running big16gs. I wont go into too many specs unless asked.

I wanted something that could spool very fast. FMIC is the last thing I needed to install before I start tuning. Unlike you, im okay with only 350awhp right now. Maybe once I get my suspension done ill look into a 2.4 stroker and a larger turbo.

Also I got my 16g plus install kit for 300 (j-pipe, ss feed lines).....Thats a deal thats very hard to beat. Ive had this fmic for like 5 months now, damn finally glad to be able to be back home and install all the goodies. Got quite a couple to install....

Evo Manifold (evo3)
Larger Throttle Body
GM MAFT Setup
FMIC and Short Route Piping
Intake Pipe
Sway Bar Endlinks
Inner/Outer Tie Rods

Just got started yesterday for 2 hours, then got drunk, I love projects I can take a lot of time with. Dont have a summer job yet and im at home, Gas is 3.30, fuck, im gonna take all the time in the world.

thanks guys, funny that you bring the thread up, because I decided to get up off my lazy ass and work on it again, for the first time since those pictures. Throttle Body Shaft Seals replaced, front cut for intercooler piping, drilled out holes for the bracket on the intercooler, and put in new manifold gaskets along with the new manifold.

Hahah I wouldnt mind, as long as it is in metallic pink! That would be hot shit, except....not. I made sure to give her the bling red paint, although I really wish I had the black caliper paint (they didnt have any when I went)

Hahahah oh well i forgot to update. Been working 10 hours a day to get some more money for rregistration for my car and the latest track events.

Front Mount Intercooler is on and running beautifully. I am running the GM MAFT blowthru setup, but did not have time to calibrate my 1g so I decided I would install it at another time. The larger exhaust manifold im using helps top-end greatly and since now I dont have 2 large holes in my intercooler along with it being smashed, it is nice and has no driveability issues. Since I have no boost controller it is at 10 lbs, (wastegate directly to boost pressure source) , but now it holds rock solid boost. And goddamn this thing flies. Just at 10 lbs, and im supposed to be running 20lb on pump gas with my setup. I cant beleive how much it helped me. In fact it almost hurts me. At the autocross last weekend, I have a video (let me find if I can upload) of my car mind you AWD, spinning all 4 through first gear. I almost hit full boost once the rest of the track, its just got shit ton of power now. I cant imagine turning up the boost. Ill take some pictures this weekend hopefully when I dont have work.

PS- Expect another power or braking update within the next few weeks. Either some Crower cams or some nice brembo 4-piston calipers in front with 2-piston brembos in the rear. And yes, they are all fixed. Also I will have my 5zigens back on, and this week I am getting my HKS SSQV welded on that ive been sitting my ass on. Then maybe this weekend the larger throttle body.

My previous prediction of 320-330awhp was on the conservative side. With cams I am hoping to hit 360-370, maybe even 400AWHP with a magnus intake manifold.

I also just bought today new fuel filter, fuel feed lines (already have return lines and an aeromotive FPR), a bling HKS knock-off oil cap, and some paint to do my valve cover. The parts will come in for the valve cover gaskets in 2 days, but I will be waiting to do that till I get my cams so I dont have to do the job twice.

If anyone would like to donate money to the, Dj is broke and has no money to pay for lunch every work day because he siphons off money to his pit, send money to XJ220@cox.net over paypal....

Tell your friends, its a good cause! lol. Just playing guys! But if Justin, you ever want those gsx rims.....

Wow 400whp is a serious number. I haven't seen, but is your gearset upgraded? You might want to save for that if you're serious about pushing that much power. Especially with an AWD setup, you're going to roast your gears unless you drive it like a granny.

MMMMMM Shep Tranny  oh and what kinda clutch you runnin??

Despite an apparent "weakness" rumors of the dsm trannies, they are nowhere near as glass as wrxs. In fact, those arent as bad as they are made to be.

Why a lot of trannies fail is people dump the clutch and do not know how to preload the drivetrain for a launch. I dont expect to upgrade the tranny in at least the next year, if not two, but by two I will want to build my engine so tranny will also go too.

Clutch is my weak point also. I run a SBR3500 Clutch with XACT chromoly flywheel. Good combo, but they only recommend it up to 350whp setups, and with cams and intake manifold I may hit that. I will easily hit it if I upgrade my turbo again, which sucks because I just got this clutch in 6 months ago.

And if I break my tranny, all yall can laugh at me. But for now ill stand by it, when 90% of the people I talked to when I talked about getting my current setup, said I would blow my motor the first week. Or I would put it into a wall, or that it would start breaking down. Well guess what bitches, none of that happened. It didnt start once because the fuse fell out of my fuseholder for my fuel pump.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything and say you're definitely going to break it, but you might want to start setting aside some money in case you do.

didnt mean that the trannies are weak, i know they are pretty hefty and like most cars the clutch will always be the weak point. But......i wanna ride when you decide to get a Shep or TRE tranny Big Grin Hell i wanna ride without one. Just curious, u gonna go with some R comps, for next year?

r comps maybe even this summer

40-45 hours at 10.50 an hour a week, plus my painting job 1-2 days a week means 400-600 bucks a week. Gotta take care of insurance, registration, my cell phone bill (144 freaking dollars), movies, food, and then 2 grand for spending money during the year. So ill have probably like 2-3 grand to spend on my car, that 2000 dollars is also (just in case) money because I am hoping to work 10-15 hours a week or maybe even 20 during school.

Oh and I didnt mean to sound like arrogant or anything about it, but I have learned to stop giving a shit what anyone says or rumors about weaknesses. I have seen what works on my friend's cars and from real people and the way I baby my car (pre-loading the drivetrain, not speeding on regular roads, doing burnouts and all that bullshit), hopefully the tranny will last a lot longer. Plus I only have 70k miles ont he tranny, most dsm trannies have 120k plus and thats almost on the low side.

What is preloading the drivetrain?
