I'll start the bidding at $50.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

Damn. T3 is a damn scary turn. So is it the elevation change on the inside that shoots people off?

Miata in a tree out of turn 3?

I'll take $200 on that not happening again...a few more bets and my entry will be covered! Confusedhock:
I don't know..."miata in trees" at T-3 is not a unique occurance

OK, so I qualified 3rd with a slow time in the morning on Sat. It started raining for the 2nd Q session in the afternoon. Since I have not yet driven this car on the new pavement in the rain, I decided it would be a good time to do so. On the "out" lap the track was OK, no puddles just damp. On the 2nd lap it was coming down hard, puddles forming and I was driving on dry tires. I decided to come in to the paddock and not risk the car. Since it was early in the downpour, lots of sessions (14) prior had left lots of oil, antifreeze etc. on the track and that all came to the surface. I hit a spot with oil and water and nothing I did had any effect. I hit the tires at about 30 and went skyward, then down on the passenger side and almost rolled, but came down as you see it.

Stayed up till 1am fixing damage drinking and re-aligning. Sun. at the start, I felt as though I was still down on power. About 1/2 way through the race the motor went. Not a good weekend. The wreck had nothing to do with the motor going as the motor was getting weak in the qualifying session. Funny, in the race I was crushing guys in the turns only to have them catch me on the straights. The alignment is fine now, even better than prior to the incident. Just need to get another motor, either build it myself or buy a pro motor.

Tech was very good after the race. Checked compression ratios with a Whistler, checked bore with some other tool and checked cams. 2 cars that were tech'd (out of the top 6) were DQ'd. 1 for cams, another for bore too large (bored out .030).
