Thinking about buying an HID kit for my car. I know they will glare to a certain degree, although the housings on my car have a pretty decent cut-off line for what it's worth. Your thoughts.

Madden, ANY wire splicing at all or was it completely plug-n-play?

Great for you, sucks for other people on the road. I voted do it.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.

I put an HID kit on Ciro's Crossfire. It was pretty easy and was bright as hell! I think his kit was like $150. Only issue was it turned on the "you have a headlight out" light on the dash.

I don't even have that light. What kit did you get Jeff? What is required with the kit, do you need to dremel anything? splice wires?

Hmm, want to do this for my car. What's the consensus then? Is it more or less luck of the draw whether or not your car's halogen housing will do the job with HIDs?

Mike Wrote:i haven't heard of them not working for anyone. +1. The only draw back I could see would be how bad your factory headlight housings scatter the light from the HID bulbs, thus creating glare for any oncoming traffic. '99-'04 Mustangs actually have a pretty good cutoff line so I'm not too worried about that when it comes time to finally do this. Just something to think about.

if a '93 civic headlight works, i'd have to think anything modern would be ok

Some cars have terrible glare, some cars have terrible housing that just dont work. Some cars dont have sufficient wiring.
All in all, itll "work", but its not nearly going to be as good as an oem setup. Not nearly, cant flame too much tho, I run one in the SC400.
