Summer G-Force +Shennanigans
#1
Ok so the truth is I miss all you guys and want to see all you faces so I have talked to some of my 804 bros and may have a plan. It started off with just us Richmonders but then possible Shennanigans got involved and I thought we need all of you for true MM shennanigans.

The game plan would be to just go to G-Force and do some races, maybe 3? or whatever everyone is thinking but mostly just to get to see everyone would be cool. THIS IS NOT A PRIVATE EVENT. We would be there with the locals and whatnot but it would give us a chance to show off MM track times. The worst case scenario would be we wouldnt all be in the same race but who cares. We still get to see each other and watch each other race like normal.

There is no sign-up or date other then this summer at this point. I will edit if we get interest and a set date. But there will be no sign-up pay early type thing. We would just be friends going to G-Force.

I talked to Justin and Shennaigans are a definate possibilty...I'm sure he will chime in here but maybe we could do a Friday night--Saturday(since most of you have careers now) type thing like our other events but just roll up the g-force satuday and get our races in rather than a normal morning private event.

Although, there is no sign-up, lets still try to be organized if we get interest. Lets try and have a "I am interest in attending" thing and we can get this thing off the ground. In fact I will use a poll but still post up if you interested in karting and shennaigans or just one or the other. Let's try and get a head count here. I know there is alot going on with hyperfest but this could be a nice break without all the work assignments and the need to pay attention at a big track setting.

I'm sure I am forgetting something most likely due to the fact I had already written this once and hit the wrong button and deleted it but anyway....

I think g-force are still selling their calenders for members. Get one for $5 and you get two buy one get one free coupons for each month. Thus, I have two I can use next month - I am willing to give one up to someone if you want. Looking forward to meeting you all again...hopefully...

Hey Farva, what's the name of that place you like, with the goofy shit on the walls and mozzarella sticks?

I'm down. Just make sure it's not on a NASA weekend - those are all scheduled now so should be easy to plan around. People coming from NoVA on a Friday afternoon would likely not be there until 7:30 or so depending on traffic - just in time for shenanigans Wink

Keep us updated!

Pending Wife approval I have floor space to crash on, and shenanigans can be had in the garage, but just remember, there is no AC in there, but fans are a plenty. Just let me know a date, floor/air matress/Futon space is first come first serve, just need to know a #.

Considering most alumni/current students for the summer live in NOVA, why not a SPK date (which is much much better) or an AllSports date?

I'd be down for either of those. We could plan an "MM in NoVA" karting fiesta, too.

NOVA=too far... I like Matt's original idea how he just wanted to get friends together and decided to extend it to MM. I'm game if it's in Richmond and will probably have some friends come up to check it out.

Poll now includes the SPK option but there a few things that need to be addressed...
1. Is anyone willing to offer up a place to crash and for possible shennanigans
2. If the beach is interested (as at least Cody is) SPK is a little far. ( I know I'm trying to cater to everyone which will always leave someone left out but) Richmond is about two hours for both Nova and the beach.

I am all for a new venue especially since our fall karting trip will most likely be at g-force, but I want to be as fair as I can to everyone and we need a place for shennaigans

I am also glad that this conversation came about though cause this was more the point of the thread than letting you know about it, I wanted to get everyones opinion on what they would be more interesting in doing. However this can back-fire because we are so far apart (Nova, Richmond, and VAB)

Not sure if they will all vote but in Richmond we have: Justin, Cabell, Kristen, Samuel, and myself. And at the beach we have: Cody and Chris that I know of.

We have room for like... one person on the couch at our apartment. Not a great spot for shenanigans either. Although if we're at SPK, we can always hit up Five Guys or some place like that for food afterward. Summit Point is a solid 45 minutes for NoVA people. We could also try to coordinate SPK with an autocross up this way, or the August NASA @ SP weekend... if they are doing NASA karting there, let's just do some teams?

No problem with doing one karting thing in July and one in August. I think everyone is okay with driving a little bit as motorsports venues of any kind are few and far between. Two hours is tolerable if we crash overnight somewhere.

And if there's a "MM Karting: G-Force" and "MM Karting: Allsports" then that's okay too. Schedules will conflict so inevitably not everyone can do both regardless. If you're looking to do something in Richmond that's more informal, then go for it. I'll make it a weekend trip if I have the time, and if not, no big deal and see you guys at a track weekend/AX/etc.
