Re: Sacrilege on a Biblical Scale: Mid-Engined 911 RSR - .RJ - 11-17-2016

every time I see a slantnose 911 I want to kick a puppy

porsche has made front engined cars, water cooled cars, SUV's, slant-nose cars, 4-cylinder bastardized VW's, hairdressers cars, and now turbo 4 cylinder hairdressers' cars.... and continues to make money. this wont change anything.

I would do some seriously questionable shit for a 930 Slantnose.

Its just so 80s I can't not love it.

Don't get me wrong, I dig your 912 (like a lot) but you could put a cleanass rs6 in your driveway and pocket $10k+, or trade it out for a 996TT

Drive.
Appreciate in value.
Sell.
Repeat.

What the fuck is wrong with this club? Are me, Rj, and Goodspeed the only others with a vintage porsche fetish?

I definantely get a chubby over old vintage porsche's, but I'd have to be sufficiently wealthy to own a newer faster sports car in addition to an old vintage porsche before I would but one, unless I could stumble onto someone that didn't know what they had and would let it go for 10-15k.

My weekends are spent in a 328 wagon.

Oh, and in roughly 4 years my weekends will be spent like this:

No, I love the old Porsche's too. I had two main posters growing up, Countach and 930. My hot wheels collection (from back in the day) has like 4 or 5 930s. You know, before Cars and Coffee and the internet when seeing those cars live was truly special.

As far as this car goes - how do you get to change the layout and go racing in the same class? The corvette uses a factory frame and a detuned engine and Porsche gets to rearrange the entire fucking car? Maybe I need read up on homologation rules. My guess though is that it's pretty lax for fear of losing participants.

What is the karting situation in PNW?

Have you ever driven a pre-964?

nope. one of my all time favorites.

i'll put it this way, in highschool, i signed a couple yearbooks with drawings of a 930 turbo next to my name. that car was literally my thoughts.

i want to get my hands on an old 911SC and turn it into a rally/targa tribute car worse than you can imagine. had big plans for this back before Magnus McHomeless and the "outlaw" culture drove prices into the tard-osphere

LMAO! I couldn't put my finger on it, but that is it. Somehow it looks worse than it did before.

Placement of the engine is not regulated. If you wanna completely redesign a chassis and race, fine by them, no money out of the sanctioning body's pocket.

Monthly races on a private track for most age groups and configurations. There are a couple arrive and drives too, but I'd rather get involved in a league.
