Its not my hoist, I borrowed it from a fellow SE-R enthusiast. The TPS issue is now fixed. Turned out to be a bad connection on the signal wire where I lengthened it. I redid it and everythings good now. With the TPS working, the idle is great. Next up, wire in the vvl Wink

Mike, thats awesome. can't wait to see that thing in action.

i'm also surprised at how fast this all came together for you, minus waiting for the engine.

Nice job Mike. If I didn't have to work those last two days I would have helped with the mopping up of the install....but I consider pulling the engine and dropping the new one in key so I'll still pretend like I did a lot of work.

I too want a ride in the it...too bad your lame ass is heading off to tech for summer classes.

VVL is done. Found a coolant leak and fixed that. Reinstalled all the splash guards and crap like that. Time to drive 300 miles to VT to test it out Smile

I made it down to VT ok. Only had one minor issue on the drive (just a little bit south of JMU. I was driving along, then all of a sudden theres a really loud bang/crash sound from the front right wheel area, then a quiter repetative sound of something hitting a tire, or something along those lines. At that point my heart just sank. I slowed down and took the next exit (less then a mile away). I pulled into a gas station, and got out expecting the worst. I take a look and see that about 80% of the plastic fender liner/splash guard was missing. Only the back portion was left on, it had ripped the plastic in half. I guess a little bit of it came loose, then got sucked under the tire, then ripping it off. It sucks because I bought brand new fender liners and splash guards, but the upside is I still have the old one.

In the next few weeks I will probably try to clean up some of the wiring and hoses a little bit, make it nice and clean. I'd really like to borrow a wideband and do a little bit of datalogging. Next engine mod will be an exhaust cutout and jwt cams/springs (when the come out, and when I can afford there 1,000$ + price tag). I'll probably conenctrate on some other areas first though, like another set of springs/ shortened struts, a better lsd, r comps, an oil cooler, and a bigger radiator.

glad to hear the noise wasn't anything crazy. weird noises on the highway suck!

so, ah...how's it drive? does it pull much better, and at what rpm does it really start to pull? is a lsd going to be crucial, or can you just stick with the viscous lsd you already have?

It pulls pretty good to redline, not quit as fast as I want it though. It will be much nicer when I get the cams and I can rev to 8,000 rpm's. It's still pulling hard at redline now, definatley wants to rev higher. The bottom end is great too. Much more kick down low then before.

The viscous will be ok for now, but the 1.5 way nismo will be much better.
