Brand Loyalty - D_Eclipse9916 - 05-09-2013 A thread on GRM got me started in thinking how brand loyal people were and I wanted to see what kind of diversity everyone has in their choices. Everyone knew me as the "Mitsubishi guy" till about 3 years ago, now I am the "BMW guy". Let's see how brand loyal everyone is in MM. - Mitsubishi x2 - BMW x3 - GM x2 - Lexus x1 - Mazda x1 (if you consider the rx7 we have for chump car, jointy owned between Weymer, Paul Galleron and I) And I came from a Jaguar (dad's side), and Mercedes family (mom's side) Re: Brand Loyalty - SlimKlim - 05-09-2013 Saab x1 BMW x3 (counting Lauren's) Mazda x1 Suzuki x1 Yamaha x1 VW x1 Not the most loyal if you just compare number of cars, but if you look at timelines, I had the first BMW for a little under a year, and this summer I'll have owned the E36 for four years. I think we just crossed two years with the E39. I had the Saab for 18 months, the Miata for 6, the first bike for less than 6 and the second bike for about that, and I've only owned the VW for 2 months. Re: Brand Loyalty - CaptainHenreh - 05-09-2013 Oh Boy! This should be fun! Are we talking Origin manufacturers or nameplates? If Nameplates (Cars/Trucks titled in my name, not Julie's autos, not counting motorcycles): Toyota: 2 Subaru: 4 Volvo: 1 Chevrolet: 3 Dodge: 2 Nissan: 2 Geo: 2 Lexus: 1 Eagle: 2 BMW: 1 Ford: 1 Honda: 1 Mazda: 1 I...think that's everything? Re: Brand Loyalty - D_Eclipse9916 - 05-09-2013 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Oh Boy! This should be fun! See? I didnt know you owned a BMW, Honda or Volvo? Pictures? What were they? Re: Brand Loyalty - ScottyB - 05-09-2013 i'm going with cars titled in my name - Nissan x1 - Honda x1 - Audi x1 - Subaru x1 my history is pretty boring my family has had a mix of Japanese, Domestic, and German cars but i seem to stick to the Japanese brands. I might change that up next time around.
Re: Brand Loyalty - CaptainHenreh - 05-09-2013 Honda: Ginger's old 93 Accord 5MT. Great car, actually. Volvo: 930SE Turbo. Purchased for 600 dollars from a lady in Nova, drove for like 6 months until heater core broke, sold for 600 dollars. BMW: My ill-fated 325es M50 swap project. Got everything (literally everything, mounts included) to do the swap, got job offer in NoVA, no garage. Byebye BMW.
Re: Brand Loyalty - HAULN-SS - 05-09-2013 Chevrolet x 6 Ford x 1 Geo x 1 (sort of..was my cousins car that my parents ended up taking over payments on when she was a slacker) Re: Brand Loyalty - .RJ - 05-09-2013 Honda x eleventy thousand VW x 1 Ford x 1 Saturn x 2 That might be it  Re: Brand Loyalty - Kaan - 05-09-2013 Honda = 4 Yamaha = 4 Kawasaki = 1 Acura = 1 Ford = 1 VW = 1 Re: Brand Loyalty - CaptainHenreh - 05-09-2013 CaptainHenreh Wrote:Oh Boy! Re: Brand Loyalty - G.Irish - 05-09-2013 Honda/Acura x 6 Ducati x 1 Aprilia x 1 Subaru x 1 Toyota x 1 Mazda x 1 Re: Brand Loyalty - JustinG - 05-09-2013 I will include Casey's Cars, since she has owned 3 different ones since we got married/engaged, and I have had some say in her vehicle purchases. Ford - 2 (Explorer, Focus) GM - 1 (SAAB 9-7X) Chrysler/Jeep - 1 (XJ) Mitsubishi/Eagle - 3 (Talon ESI, Eclipse RS, GSX) Honda - 1 (Hatchpile) Mazda - 1 (CX-7) Subaru -1 (XT) Re: Brand Loyalty - .RJ - 05-09-2013 G.Irish Wrote:.RJ Wrote:Honda x eleventy thousandYou forgot that Miata that you flipped, the first gen RX-7, and that 325 you had. Oh yeah... there were Miatas x 3. And 2 yamahas. Revolve that door, dog. Re: Brand Loyalty - WRXtranceformed - 05-09-2013 Subaru x5 (two owned by me, other three owned by the family that I drove at some point) - 3 90's-2000's wagons, 04 WRX, 04 franken STi Toyota x3 - 2 90's pickups and a 2001 Tundra Isuzu x1 - 90's Rodeo Lexus x1 - 2001 IS300 Acura x1 - 2007 TL Type-S Ford x1 - '66 Stang Coupe Cadillac x1 - 08 CTS 3.6DI Hyundai x1 (if you count the car I just bought for the fiance) - 2013 Elantra Ltd I think that is mostly it. Our family always heavily favored the Jap cars as I still do despite my current car. My mom drives a Lexus and has a Rav4 "beater" and my dad owns a Tundra. I would say at one point I was pretty brand loyal to Subaru but nothing they have put out has really excited me over the past few years. An STi variant of the BRZ might change my mind on that, who knows. I am heavily leaning toward Cadillacs in the future after owning my current car. Re: Brand Loyalty - Ken - 05-09-2013 Whoa, my list is extremely easy Mitsubishi x 2 Acura x 1 Family as a whole has been Jap/Euro. My dad currently drives an E39 M5, had a E39 540i before that and an E34 before that. When my parents were still together they had an E30. After that we've had an Montero, Xterra and Maxima, a Ford Explorer (which latest all of two months), Acura TL's, and now we're on VW turbo beetle and GTI. Re: Brand Loyalty - Apoc - 05-09-2013 Honda x 3 (1 motorcycle) Porsche x 2 (1 race car) Nissan x 1 BMW x 1 Audi x 1 Subaru x 1 Ducati x 1 Suzuki x 1 edit: I forgot the Subaru. Shows you what I think about it. Re: Brand Loyalty - NTIman - 05-09-2013 Geo: 1 Ford: 3 (86 F-250, 98 ZX2, 05 focus) Toyota: 2 (91 Corolla wagon that I turned into a dirt track car; 08 Corolla) Honda: 1 (currently on jackstands being rebuilt) Re: Brand Loyalty - BLINGMW - 05-09-2013 Interesting  Counting myself, Jess once married and not motorcycles: 2 Pontiac Fieros 1 Mazda 626 1 Saturn 2 Hondas 1 Toyota van 1 Nissan 240 10 BMW (not including the field of E30s I technically temporarily owned) I guess I'm fairly loyal, though I cannot quite imagine buying "old" E92 and later stuff 10 years from now. :dunno: Re: Brand Loyalty - Steve85 - 05-09-2013 Including cars by marriage: Chevy x 3 - (2 85 vettes, 03 suburban) VW x 3 - (early 2000's passat, jetta, touareg) Nissan x 3 - (88ish pickup, pathfinder, 03 quest) HondAcura x 3 - (94 civic si, odyssey, 99 integra) BMW x 2 - (E30 325ix, 90's 525i) Toyota x 2 - (84 Camry (1st car), 07 Camry) |
