A thread on GRM got me started in thinking how brand loyal people were and I wanted to see what kind of diversity everyone has in their choices. Everyone knew me as the "Mitsubishi guy" till about 3 years ago, now I am the "BMW guy". Let's see how brand loyal everyone is in MM.
- Mitsubishi x2
- BMW x3
- GM x2
- Lexus x1
- Mazda x1 (if you consider the rx7 we have for chump car, jointy owned between Weymer, Paul Galleron and I)
And I came from a Jaguar (dad's side), and Mercedes family (mom's side)
2020 Ford Raptor
2009 Z06
1986.5 Porsche 928S
Saab x1
BMW x3 (counting Lauren's)
Mazda x1
Suzuki x1
Yamaha x1
VW x1
Not the most loyal if you just compare number of cars, but if you look at timelines, I had the first BMW for a little under a year, and this summer I'll have owned the E36 for four years. I think we just crossed two years with the E39.
I had the Saab for 18 months, the Miata for 6, the first bike for less than 6 and the second bike for about that, and I've only owned the VW for 2 months.
Now: 07 Porsche Cayman S | 18 VW Tiguan
Then: 18 VW GTI Autobahn | 95 BMW M3 | 15 VW GTI SE | 12 Kia Optima SX | 2009 VW GTI | 00 BMW 540i Sport | 90 Mazda Miata | 94 Yamaha FZR600R | 1993 Suzuki GS500E | 2003 BMW 325i | 95 Saab 900S
Oh Boy! This should be fun!
Are we talking Origin manufacturers or nameplates?

I think that is mostly it. Our family always heavily favored the Jap cars as I still do despite my current car. My mom drives a Lexus and has a Rav4 "beater" and my dad owns a Tundra. I would say at one point I was pretty brand loyal to Subaru but nothing they have put out has really excited me over the past few years. An STi variant of the BRZ might change my mind on that, who knows. I am heavily leaning toward Cadillacs in the future after owning my current car.

Family as a whole has been Jap/Euro. My dad currently drives an E39 M5, had a E39 540i before that and an E34 before that. When my parents were still together they had an E30. After that we've had an Montero, Xterra and Maxima, a Ford Explorer (which latest all of two months), Acura TL's, and now we're on VW turbo beetle and GTI.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
