Anyone have a sawzall? - .RJ - 06-14-2005 I need to borrow one.... prefer it for friday or weekend if you got it. Unless of course someone has a plasma cutter, but i doubt that. Dont ask why
- white_2kgt - 06-14-2005 You want me to see if I can get you a plasma cutter? You'd have to come get it and _maybe_ pay a rental fee. --chad - .RJ - 06-14-2005 Well, how big is a plasma cutter and what would be involved in moving it to use it? I have never used one before, and I reckon i have a pretty high probability of losing a finger or three i'm a bit hesitant
- Mike - 06-14-2005 i know what it s forrr! - navin - 06-14-2005 RHD conversion on the RS!! i knew it, w00p w00p! - .RJ - 06-14-2005 Snobeck is my hero ![]() The destruction begins sunday! - PDenbigh - 06-15-2005 I have a sawsall you could borrow, but H'burg is a bit of a trip... - white_2kgt - 06-15-2005 .RJ Wrote:Well, how big is a plasma cutter and what would be involved in moving it to use it? about the size of a welder. --chad - PDenbigh - 06-15-2005 Plasma cutters are pretty darn simple. You just have to be steady, like welding, and observe the same percautions one would when welding. It is important to set it up correctly (heat and tip shape) and you'll be good to go. Wouldn't hurt to practice on some metal that isn't part of your car first ;-). - .RJ - 06-15-2005 What precautions? Like gloves/jacket/face sheild? I really dont trust myself with one! Hey chad, i'll buy you dinner if you bring it down here and do the cutting With a plasma cutter it should only take about 15 minutes!
- PDenbigh - 06-15-2005 Welders Gloves, welders helmate, watching what's behind the cutting area, watching sparks, moving steadily, and not touchign it for a while until its cool, that sorta thing. Oh, and screaming while its on for effect, makes it more dramatic (plasma cutting is somewhat anticlamatic for how cool it is). - damnit458 - 06-15-2005 Can we place bets on whether or not RJ comes out of this with 5 fingers on each hand? Im thinking some sort of odds...
- .RJ - 06-15-2005 Nah, I already almost lost one a few years back and it still causes me some problems...... I'm a bit too careful with that stuff. - Myuki - 06-15-2005 .RJ Wrote:Nah, I already almost lost one a few years back and it still causes me some problems...... Do you have to have it this weekend? --chad - .RJ - 06-15-2005 This weekend would be best, but next weekend would work as well. - navin - 06-15-2005 I want front row seats to this.... - .RJ - 06-15-2005 That would require you to leave your house, so you wont be there. - navin - 06-15-2005 to see your dumbass to chop yourself into little bits, im game.. - white_2kgt - 06-15-2005 .RJ Wrote:This weekend would be best, but next weekend would work as well. Well, I've got someone who will let us use one as long as we do it at his place. Do you have anyway to get the car up here? --chad |
